Congress [Storting]
In the echoing chambers in an old and ornately decorated building, its bastion-like solid block standing majestically in the snow-covered landscape, with lions greeting the visitors, as they guard the entrances, the Odelsting and the Lagting are sitting in session, arguing about bills and laws and taxes, passing the propositions back and forth, with the King approving it finally, to make it a law. It is fiction - or is it real? A fiction for us in the eWorld, but reality in the real world - the two have been mixing a lot lately.
These dignified bodies make laws for the country, make guidelines for the government and the executive bodies to follow, they decide which way the ship of the nation should set its high sails, they argue and decide about alliances and protection pacts, about wars and peace. The five leading parties who give the congressmen are making a healthy and varied assortion of representatives, coming from all segments of Norwegian society and all levels of experience; first time entrants and old hands in politics – hopefully at this time not many running for the congress for the gold it entails, but to do meaningful work, to serve the country, no matter if it is the birthplace of them or ’only’ home, because they are representing minorities, and to work for a common good, instead of someone’s own.
I do hope to become such one. I’ve been living in this country practically all in my e-life, I read its history, I read about its politicians and great people, its scandals and its great moments, its problems and its fine points. I follow the newspapers and the forums that I can, I talk to people, so I do believe I have at least an inkling of what is going on in the country, and what are its main problems that should be solved soon. I am glad to see that these are neither that many, nor very serious, as in some places, because it means that the country is working well and its leaders are capable. I do hope that in my small ways I can contribute to that and represent the minority that I belong to – the many Hungarians working here and finding a home here as well.
I do thank all of you if you vote for me at the upcoming congress elections. I will try and represent my region, the beautiful and plentiful black-earthed steppes of Voronezh to the best of my abilities. I don’t think anyone can best that promise. 🙂

Advancement for the Nordic people can be secured only by an egalitarian people's democratic state, where the people reap their own harvest and ring their own tills. Thus the historical task of the Norwegian masses is to expropriate the expropriators and put an end to exploitation once and for all. Under-industrialized and exploited by the bourgeoisie, that's what our country is like at the moment. But the iron fist of the working class, the Communist Party of Norway, is ready to resolutely smash and thoroughly pulverize the edifice of capitalist lies. Under the wise guidance of our Party cadres, the Nordic people shall build nothing less than a great proletarian paradise flowing with milk and honey, a land of hope and glory which is governed by the people and for the people.
It's a well-written article and all, but I can't say I see many actual plans here. It all seems like just wrapping nonsense into a nice package and hope people buy it cause it's nice and shiny.
And "I’ve been living in this country practically all in my e-life"? Is this really so? All your former articles in the newspaper are in Hungarian, also from newer dates (info: Hungary is part of PEACE). Not accusing you of anything here, but it would be nice with a few elaborations.
heivoll: you are such a bourgeois that your class situation probably prevents you from understanding the line of the CPN. The mission of the left-wing radical CPN is to create a worker's state in Norway. Therefore among our supporters there are a lot of workers, peasants and members of other downtrodden and under-privileged classes, including Russian and Hungarian immigrants, who wish to live in their chosen fatherland on an equal footing. What we advocate is peaceful coëxistence and equality. Please don't question the loyalty of immigrants, because the loyalty of the bourgeois classes is much more questionable, as the bourgeois always easily change their residence and loyalty in their quest for profit, forming an international capitalist class, while the proletarians are highly patriotic and very loyal for their homeland, especially if it is a great socialist paradise like Norway will become under the remarkable leadership of the Communist Party of Norway.
heivoll: I will never write a bad article just for not to be nice and shiny. I write in my own style and that's it. I freely admit that I write my articles in Hungary mainly, because that is my mother tongue. But I do live and work here and if I am elected, then obviously my allegiances will change - it is different to be a worker in a country and to be an official. I have read all the other congress-aspirants' presentations and there were singularly few actual plans there either. Mostly old politicians saying what they have accomplished in this game. Well, they can say that they want to continue what they have done before - being a new entrant I cannot do that. I plan to represent minorities, as I said - but the actual form it takes is a matter of the moment, I cannot beforehand state that I will do this and that. I support the russian regions to be given back to Russia, for I firmly believe in nation-states and I do not like ovesized empires. I will try to bring the food-prices down a bit, for it is a problem here too - I know that it is not easy but if somebody can come up with actual plans to do so I will support him/her/them. I have no business affiliations, so it won't colour my judgement. That's all I can say.
Noel H. Fiel😛 How did you make up your mind that I'm a bourgeois? I've been a worker in this country for one year, slowly bringing up my wellness and political influence, and I'm still not a rich guy on any point. What you say otherwise is correct, but calling me upper class is missing the target ridicolously. I do not mean to question the immigrants, but in these times of turkish goons I may get a bit too suspicious. And questioning my loyalty? Yes, go ahead. Of course...
Quicksilver: There is nothing wrong with writing the way you do, and it does show that you've put some work into the "appearance" and language of your article. About writing in hungarian I may have become over-suspicious, as stated before, because of the problems we've had with goons here the last few weeks (which you have noticed too if you're reading the news here).
A good reply all in all. I wanted to hear your plans and now you gave at least what you have. A bit of discussion in these articles are better than pure mass masturbation. I welcome you as opponents to TT 😉
As for appearances, I do think that newspapers here (in erepublik) needs to be better overall. For I do not consider my style particularly good and polished - but still it does stand out here. If you check my articles, you may notice that I have translated almost all of them into English and people from many nations read and comment them.
About the scandals - you probably mean kartal61 and his group, don't you? I can assure you and everyone interested that I have nothing to do with them or any goons whatsoever (kartal did write to me once, but he probably wrote to hundreds).
About appearance: Yes, you do write quite polished. The only one you would ever see talk like that would be noblemen from several years ago. "For I do not consider my style particularly good and polished" is just another example of this. But don't take this as pure criticism, it's more fun to read articles written in a different style 😉
And yes, I was thinking of kartal61. I don't accuse you of that, I was just pointing out that as the reason for being suspicious.
Well. I am first and foremost a story-writer - hence is my style. 🙂
I understand it and accept the explanation.
