TUP, Fighting for You

It was a long day yesterday. A day of triumph, a day of sadness. We went into this election fully prepared, but several of our strongest friends were missing. Roadrunnerspeed and Hazz, in LSD. Several others retired or moved to warmer climes. We were weakened, but resolute. We stood on a manifesto which will stand for this term as our promise to you- the voters- to create a progressive Britain.

Over the next two weeks, we will institute our manifesto. Malta and I will be working on transforming policy into law proposal, which will then go through the public discussion section of the although we do. We stand on concrete policies which we will turn into concrete laws.

We had some good results, some bad ones and some close calls. BFSte surprised us all, including himself, by winning more than 20 votes in a previously UKRP/PCP area. Well done to him for showing us all what experience, good campaigning and a committment to an area can do. Talking about the North, Malta_1990, who thought he had lost out, ended up beating the UKRP to retain his seat in the NE.

Well done as well to John Forseti for getting the seat he so deserves. Well done to Leo Ruby, our first TUP-BAP candidate, we look forward to working in a spirit of solidarity and socialist unity in future. Well done to Kaveha, R-J C and Ashley Blakeston, first time congress members. Well done as well to our old faithful members, Jacen Molare and SKQ62.

So we've had a successful election! But sadly there have been those who have lost out. To Sir Graystar, Wallyboy, Ares, Count Drakula and Rolfus I can only say this. We will be back. You will have your seats. We will do the groundwork and show the people of Britain that voting TUP was the right decision to make, and next term we will improve on our results.

Finally I have a little announcement to make...



It's been kicking around the forums for a while, but some of you may not have noticed...TUP has reached second place. We've overtaken the PCP and are now the true left alternative. We have to thank the hard work of Squiddy, Malta and all of the TUP members for getting us this far.
