To My Supporters and Opponents

Day 467, 07:51 Published in Canada Canada by Dominik

Hello to all my my fellow Canadians. I trust that the federal election is fresh in everyone's minds right now. I am sure that, just like with the last few races, it's going to be close. As one of the candidates that Canadians will hopefully consider, I would like to give you a feel for the kind of politics I like to run. I have no interest in libel - insults and lies are not the direction I would like this campaign to take. I will offer appropriate criticism relating to my opponents' platforms, ideas, and actions. I don't will not disparage or publicly humiliate them, because I respect them. I will go even further than saying that; I will say that I think they're all good politicians, all of them experienced with interesting ideas. However, below all the cuddliness lies a bold truth for all candidates: each one believes he is better for the job than the rest, otherwise he wouldn't be running. It is no different for me; many of my ideas vary substantially from my opponents', and it is up to me to show you, the voters, how I can implement them to make Canada a better place.

My main focus is to establish a working class. The way the game is structured really makes it difficult to create one- nobody wants to play the game with just 2 clicks. That's why there need to be 2 things- a ladder people will be able to climb based on their skills and intelligence (so only the best get into the highest offices)- this will increase competition and make eRepublik more into a real "game". With the boomers, this is now possible. The second thing we need, is a whole set of real-world-simulating programs that will allow people who want to get involved without necessarily holding high positions within the government. The CAF is a start- so far it is the only thing citizens can take part in other than politics and journalism. I will support the expansion of both the military and the journalist fields in addition to adding other programs.

I can tell you that I will do my best to make Canada a better place. Now, you might tell me, all of the candidates will use this rhetoric. However, if you compare the platforms, I am the only one proposing any substantial change to the system. I am the only one who really wishes to brake out of mediocrity. This is not to say we're doing badly, but merely to state we can do better. We can create a true paradise, a country where everyone is free to do as they wish and to which people will wish to immigrate. We can do it Canada. For change, join the RFP, and vote Dominik.
