The Belgian Elections and the British Attack

Day 737, 07:34 Published in Canada Switzerland by HuCard

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who voted me into the congress. I shall do my best and will not allow your votes to have been wasted!

The elections in Belgium are also over, and to the disappointment of many Belgians The Group once again gained 70% of the congress, with two Belgian/UNL parties sharing the rest. When I went to bed last night it had still been a very equal match with each side having claimed ten seats, but it seems this turned around over night.
The United Dutch party Iron & Wine blamed the current government for this loss and accused it of critical passivity in its statement as to why it asked some of its voters to return to the UNL (although most of them stayed in Belgium anyway). Meanwhile a high-ranked The Group official was exposed to have been buying votes, to which he replied by posting an article taking the responsibility for his action with a note that it should not be credited to the whole party.

This morning however, the United Kingdom attacked Flanders. I am not entirely sure but this does not seem to have been previously coordinated with the UNL and is probably rather a part of the general British silliness currently engulfing the islands. Nonetheless, this move has been most gratefully welcomed by the Belgians and Dutch who hail it as a chance to finally liberate the two regions. Many civilians from the UNL already temporarily moved to London to fight there, and most recently the UNL's official army has also been deployed to London to fight from there.

Aside from all this, the job market in Belgium has grown and while the wages may still be a all over the place, it now offers a sufficient number of jobs for most skill levels.
