Splitting the Vote... A Canadian Penchant
Monk Penman
Once again, it appears that eCanadians will re-elect Jacobi as president, and once again, it appears that the majority do not support him.
Somtimes I long for the good old days... two parties, simple choices. But the political world has evolved into a much more complex animal, and the challenge now, is to ensure that our diverse voices are heard, by whichever party or president happens to be in power.
Surely, if a majority of eCanadians would chose someone other than the front runner, then that front runner ought to have open ears to hear what those voices are saying.
Whatever the outcome, let us hope our eCanadian president will be able to do a better job of this than our arrogant real life prime minister has done.

I like preferential voting. I'd enjoy seeing how many people had me as their second choice
Jacobi will be set for his fourth term indeed, first time in eRepublik, I just hope things change a bit, like it says in his platform.
Preferential voting WOULD be an improvement, and since we can only have ONE President (or Prime Minister), this might be the best option for choosing a country's leader. In the game, of course, it would depend on the game administration (otherwise known as the gods) to make such a change. I don't believe our elected officials have any power to change the game design, unlike their real life counterparts.
I just think it's awesome we were obliterated from the map yet we almost have 700 Canadians voting! Coolio.
Never thought I'd vote Jacobi. But I did. I have my reasons.
Rylde just blew my mind. BLAMMO!
"Whatever the outcome, let us hope our eCanadian president will be able to do a better job"
I agree. And I hope that all Canadians will work together to provide our Prime Minister with support and encouragement as I believe in the end, that we all have the same goal - the strongest and best Canada we can achieve. (Not to mention, kicking PEACE's butt.)
