Russia and a Gambler's Prayer

Day 956, 21:54 Published in USA USA by Lucus Casius
Using What Fate has Dealt Us

We raise our hand to our eyes, staring intently our cards. We sigh inwardly. Almost nothing to go on. Only the faintest chance of winning the hand. Glancing at our chips, we notice that we're beginning to run low. Given our luck so far at this table, it appears unlikely that we'll get anything good to go on again.

We know the game we'll have to play next if we don't win this hand. We can't play that with any hope of coming out with our wallet intact.

Without letting any of this show, we wait.

One Check. Two Check. Three Check.

We'll raise.

The ones sitting at the opposite side of the table raise their eyebrows.

With a prayer to the Lady Luck, we prepare to see who has the better hand. We attack.

It begins.

We'll see if Russia has the guts to call.
