Party elections - Make your vote count! [Updated]

Day 907, 02:09 Published in Singapore Singapore by Tommy Aquinas

So its the 15th, which means its party election time! But this is a party election unlike many other. By some accident of timing, thriftiness or design, we actually only have 2 contests today. One of which may be very important in the long run.

4 of the 6 parties are fielding either 1 or zero candidates. That means for members of those party, your 1 XP gain for voting can't effect change in Singapore. And isn't effecting change the point of voting? So if you are in the Singapore Republican Party, the Birthday Party, the Enarachist Party or srnth is awesome, please consider using your vote elsewhere where it can make a positive difference.

So down to our 2 contestants!

In the New Green Party, we have the perennial battle between incumbent Boethiah, and waster-of-two-gold-each-month Machoboy. Boethiah will be safe here with the regular vote of the NGP.

The much more interesting battle takes place in the Young Tigers of Singapore. That's right folks, it's a three-way, except this time not the good kind 😉

The incumbent Bluebond has gained notoriety for allowing in Serbians and Hungarians with links to take-over groups. (For those of you who are eRepublik babies, the Serbians launched an almost successful PTO on Singapore two months ago). Indeed, one of those people who should never have been accepted to Singapore but for the rogue Bluebond is also taking part in this three-way. Which leaves Logan Dunleavy as the only trusted candidate. So the focus of this May 15th election is squarely on the Young Tigers. Time will reveal whether they elect a trusted candidate or not!

Moving party is a simple process, you can go back to your party straight afterwards and should only take you less than a minute. So if you want to make your vote count, here's how you might go about it:

1. Go to My Places and click on Party, then click Resign.
2. On the page that comes up, click Join a Party, then click on a party which actually has an election contest.
3. Click on Join Party, and on the page that comes up, scroll down and click on Vote.
4. Cast your vote for a trusted candidate.

To get back to your party

1. Go to My Places and click on Party, then click Resign.
2. On the page that comes up, click Join a Party, then click on your own party.

Thanks for all your help in keeping Singapore safe 😉

*Update* Bluebond has approved another Phoenix citizen, who has voted and since returned to Russia. This was another co-ordinated approval.
