NZ News You Might Have Missed - 11/13

Day 1,089, 19:44 Published in New Zealand USA by Fionia

So here I am, looking for a new niche for this newspaper. Let's try this: a nightly (EST) news roundup, highlighting good articles outside the top 5, and events you might have missed.

Let's start out with a law that's being voted on currently. This donation proposal of 900 gold to a company is being voted down, 24 to 4. Jythier Smith went into investigative mode and revealed the truth behind this (😉) in National Bedtime Proposed.

The other law proposals of the day were both by President Calbe:

A New Citizen Message, being voted down 15-2 because of some errors in coding.

A MPP (Mutual Protection Pact) with the US, passed 22-5. This is part of NZ's plan for non-alignment (aka active neutrality). NZ already has a Serbian MPP, and the US has provided NZ with a non-PHX one.

There is a battle in Java, from our US MPP.

But if you're looking for a military group to join, the NZDF is recruiting! There are two branches in the NZDF. The Army focuses on fighting from home, through our MPPs (when there are battles, unlike now), while the SAS is the deploying branch. Read about all the details and how to apply.

In the third part of his series interviewing Calbe's Cabinet officials, Chetan Zapato talks to Daniel Dodge, Minister of Internal Affairs.

Supabeasty has put together a fun competition for us all, the New Zealand People's Choice Awards. Read the rules and then vote for your favorites!

Probably the best satirist in NZ, MisterBeefhead talks about the possibility of votes being based on a player's wealth.

So how'd it work? Feedback appreciated.
