While we're waiting in our icy retreat with only a few hundred polar bears between us and destruction I'd like to tell the world how exactly it came to this.
Day 959 - 6th July
In a repeat of April's ill-fated presidential election, and showing exactly the same suspicious voting patterns, Cl4trap (believed to be a Russian agent) is elected president. Fortunately however, due to the migration to V2 to he is unable to take advantage of the situation and declare any wars.
Day 962 - 9th July
Once 'all' the V2 bugs were out of the way we were allowed to impeach Cl4trap. Mr. Gordon Gekko became the democratically elected president. Hooray! Democracy wins through in the end.
Day 963 - 10th July
Mr. Gordon Gekko announces a closer working relationship with Sweden. His ministers include the president of Sweden Per-Otto and several other Swedish citizens. Which is fair enough, we don't really mind this too much.
Day 969 - 16th July
Virtually all of Norway's political parties are taken over by citizens believed to be Russians. Mr. Gordon Gekko doesn't have much to say about this. Actually he doesn't have much to say about anything. So e
Day 974 - 21st July
Out of the blue Mr. Gordon Gekko launches a war of conquest against Sweden. The Swedish president (obviously working alongside Gekko) retreats all battles and by dawn Norway has conquered almost all of its neighbour. This action wipes out all of Norway's MMPs however and UK is quick to take advantage invading Vestlandet (Norway's high oil region). The battle is retreated by Mr. Gordon Gekko, (presumably) to keep up the momentum with Sweden.
Day 975 - 22nd July
Russia takes advantage and conquers Nord-Norge. Meanwhile some Swedish citizens see no way out but to continue the conquest of Sweden and then liberate the country free of the MPPs and wars stacked against it. Bug #1 However, the battle for Smaland, Sweden's last region, is bugge
Day 976 - 23rd July
Mr. Gordon Gekko is impeached, as is the Swedish president Per-Otto. Bug #2 Instead of clearing Norway's president, leaving us un-governed, Cl4trap is made president again. D'oh! He launches the bewildered Norwegian army against Scotland and Northern Russia, activating the full weight of UK's and Russia's alliances.
Admin step in later in the day removing Cl4trap from power but refuse to undo his activation of all those MPPs. UK now has 11 countries backing its advance, Russia has 18.
Day 981 - 28th July
Russia has rolled through Norway and conquered its Southern regions. Meanwhile it has liberated previously conquered regions in the rear so UK forces can roll in behind.
Day 983 - 30th July
Sweden completes the retaking of Norwegian held territory.
Day 984 - 31st July
UK takes the Northern half of Norway.
And then?....
We now await the final UK advance on our position. When is it going to come? We don't know. Perhaps they have stalled because they have heard rumours of the uber-destructive super-weapon we're cooking up here. Maybe they are waiting until all the polar bears have gone into hibernation. Or maybe they just think trapping a tiny Norway with tons of MPPs stacked against it is easier to handle than a completely wiped out Norway. Who knows?
We are the victims of two crazy presidents (one PTO-er who got two rolls at the dice, and one we actually elected), two game bugs (one which harmed Sweden's position, one which harmed Norway's) and Admin (who obviously don't care).
But we are Norway, battered, bruised, but still here. Still fighting.

😛it runs on for 15 or so hours after the 24hr deadline even though Norway had fulfilled the winning conditions in the correct time! As a result of this and the successful resistance movement in Norrland and Sameland Sweden is not fully conquered, and does not lose any of the wars or MPPs stacked against it.

Great explanation Yan. Needless to say, this last month has been an eventful summer which hasn't been helped by poor V2 migration and a whole lot of cheating. Hope either Finland can come in and take Nord-norge and kill off this version of Norway or we might be stuck with no power and no land.
According to the last update on the most recent Insider article, they are going to be fixing "the mess with alliances" today (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/military-updates-and-daily-food-consumption-information-1483836/1/20)
