New Hospital?

I wish to propose the construction of a new Q5 hospital in the region of the Shannon. I would like to hear everyones opinion before I start trying to pass this law as if i didnt it would be a bit of a waste of precious few propositions.
1. Neighbours
With the stategical location of the Shannon there is more foreign regions beside the Shannon than an other Irish region. And yet only a Q1 hospital. this could be a very good resource if used properly.
2. Lack of wargames
We need em. End of story. I know its because of the war but we are losing citizens daily to go fight abroad. We really should be ready for the day that things settle down once more.
3. Low wellness
Due to the lack of wargames people who have a lower income cannot afford higher quality food. On average people break even on their wellness and rarely improve it drastically without the aid of hospitals
4. Instability
Currently the world is in turmoil. They landscape of the New World changes on an hourly basis these days. Change can be for the better or the worse. If ever Cork and Kerry were to fall, Shannon could very easily be our backup.
5. Why not?
This week in the USA there has been a great uproar about how congress have turned down plans for a Q5 hospital in New York. Granted they do face an iminent threat, we may or may not ( i pray the latter) face the same in the future. We may aswell be prepared. When the Northeast Hospital was built it was built with the cost of 1 IEP. If we can get that sort of value again, wahey!

I support a Q5 hospital, but you got a couple of things wrong.
You need to fight to use a hospital so point 3 goes out the window.
I think we paid 230 Gold for the hospital to be correct.
May I suggest opening a thread in the Dáil section of the forum on this?
And first,I don't think we need another Q5 hospital,the gold would be better spent elsewhere on other projects.
As you said,Shannon borders the most regions,which means it has the best chance of being attacked first and sadly,falling due to our low numbers.
Although the hospital in the Northeast and indeed Cork and Kerry were "bought" at 1 IEP,that was after we donated hundreds of gold to the organisations beforehand,1 IEP is just the cheapest method of transfer after these donations.

Its no secret most of the population resides in Dublin Cork/Kerry and the Northeast even if you were to get a third of the citizens from each region to move it wouldn't warrent a q5 hospital as Top Gun pointed out the costs are massive for a q5.
To my reading one of the many thing the eUSA got wrong in getting ready for this war compared to PEACE was thinking that 3 Q5's were enough. Obviously we don't have 52 territories but if we look at the number of Q5's the PEACE nations have (9 in eIndonesia I believe) we see that's it's a strategy that has helped them to be more than their enemy's.
We dont need another q5 hospital at the ,onent. It was hard enough to get the one we have
@Skylarkin : eh...were a small country PEACE is even bigger they are richer than us we dont actually need a second Q5 Hosiptal whats the point Q5 + 2 Q4's can defend our borders its better off spending our Gold on a project that is needed.

I think this is a good idea even if we only start by donating small amounts into a fund for it. It should be on the agenda. We should not stop making eireland better.
Ok ill admit i was wrong on the money part. Forget that. But dont forget we are reducing taxes atm because we are bringing in more money than we are spending. There doesnt appear to be shortage of IEP anyway.

So the Shannon is our sacrafice so? We just surrender instantly there? if that was the case why dont we just give away all our regions apart from Cork/Kerry and Dublin if we wont defend them?
@pip: Remember when we lost the shannon to the british last month? how many people moved to try get it back? People all across the world came to help. It did not help that we were fighting with a q1 hospital versus a q5. Just because there are no people there doesnt mean they wont move.
When i joined eRepublik i started in the Northest. It had the second lowest population in ireland. Now look at it with the addition of a q5! People will be willing to move for the chance to fight.
No point having the Q5 hospital in that region, in the unlikely event we're invaded it'll just be destroyed.
What can we build with our Gol😛
1) Defense Systems: ARE CRAP ... (Summary of Vyse in forum!!)
2) Tayto's weddings: LOVe Nests don't cost that much
3) War Games: 150 gold per war game with USA....Feck that...Instead send USA a "get well soon card"....so that we can spent their money.
4) Conor's Hospitals Q5 in all regions.....LONG TERM GOAL..WHY NOT..that way all regions get populated and have the best health care and no social disadvantaged areas.
So, the only catch is that we need 250 gold.....ok, taxes back up to 10%...from 7%
What about lowering the tax even further and advertising that fact across a lot of nations media? Get a boom from current active players. We're a stable country free from TO or PTO where people can do business effectively without fear of losing it all. With a the increased population and income we could then look to build more hospitals but for now I'm starting to see that we just don't have the population to justify the need.

What we should do is join the USA in the war against PEACE its the right and moral thing to do, but then again the ppl that are running eIreland these days do seem to be lacking in morals don't they.

..but now thinking a bit longer there is a No.5 option (to add to the others...Spend Gold on the IDF (Wepons/Tanks/Contingment Strategy/Reserve) and there will lie your real competion for FUNDS....I think......It's a classic MILITARY vs SOCIAL

A Q5 hospital for 96 citizens while Dublin has a q4 hospital for 460 citizens? sorry if I'm missing something.
Cork and Kerry: Q4 Hospital 175 citizens
Dublin: Q4 hospital 460 citizens
Northeast: Q5 hospital 171 citizens
Northwest: Q2 hospital 104 citizens
Shannon: Q1 Hospital 96 citizens
South: Q2 Hospital 75 citizens
There is a case for increasing Northwest, Shannon and south to at least 3 in the short term, and then on to 4 in the long term.

Could we upgrade the level 4 hospital in Cork & Kerry to a level 5 one, or doesnt it work like that ?
if there is anything that public spending could be used, it is certainly needed on our defence system, especially in shannon
@Englebirt: there seams to be a bug in the game that doenst allow it. I dont know if it has been fixed or not yet.
@Walrus: Hospitals seeam to be more useful than defence systems from different nations experience
@Tarazis: Why increase gradually and waste money when we can just go and get a q5 instantly? instead of spending the cost of each level.
@Tayto: but there appears to be no spending on any social (apart from the gifting program of course). even IF we were concentrating on military our IDF weapons store isnt exactly of high quality either. . .
@everyone: Im looking to improve the country! Not being content with mediocraty unlike what some appear to be. We are being told we dont need the money so we are reducing taxes. Has anyone thought that we just arent investing in our future as much as we could be or is it just me?

i am not from ireland, but i can tell you that u need one more hospital. thats for shure. everyone can donate some small amount of money... for country... for better good of everyone in this country and u will have it.
