Ministry of Information & New Citizenry: A New Month Ahead of Us

Day 1,021, 13:32 Published in Ireland Ireland by JGutenberg

Citizens of Ireland,

I am pleased to announce that I will be working with Eldarion Sionnodel as co-Ministers of the combined Ministries of Information and New Citizens, which I will be calling the Ministry of Information & New Citizenry. I haven't been given access to any organizations yet but I promised Eldarion that I would disclose my plans for the ministries in an article so(in no particular order) here you go.

Weekly to bi-weekly updates (depending on how much time we have) about the general goings on in Ireland's government and important international affairs. A recent issue that has arisen is Ministerial transparency. Although Ministries are not legally required to provided to give reports I believe it would be in the best interest of everyone involved to have a more transparent government. I hope to be in contact with all the Ministries and include their activities in our updates.

Something that got me involved as a new citizen was a New Citizen's Writing Contest. I hope to implement another one of these and work with the Ministry of Community to provide fun opportunities for our New Citizens. (There's a MoC, right? Nogin's article has disappeared on me...)

A lot of these measures I have proposed will require funding of some sort. To this we will create the New Citizens Fund. To finance this I have several plans.
Donations: You might donate 10 gold to the Ministry of Community to give Lifetime Why not donate that money to the Ministry of New Citizens and fund thousands of points of happiness for New Citizens?
Wiki Team: The Wiki team is a volunteer organization that will work on updating Ireland's eRepublik Wikipedia pages. However, for the small some of 2 gold(which will go directly to the New Citizens Fund), we can make a personal Wikipedia page for you! The eIreland Government Wikipedia Team is now recruiting!
Can you say lotteries? All proceeds will go directly to New Citizens fund!

Be in communication with Paschoall, the Minister of Wellfare, about supplies of baby food. (Yum!)

The Irish Defence Forces' website has given me the inspiration to create a hub of information, advice, guides, and other resources for new and old citizens alike. This website will include things such as helpful Greasemonkey scripts, guides to fighting, how to join the IDF and more. The website can be found here. (Warning, work in progress.)

Coverage of activity in the Dáil Éireann. I plan to continue my series as a government publication, although I will remove all elements that may be perceived to be biased.

Create a list of individuals to effectively serve as docents for New Citizens. If a New Citizen has a question they should feel free to ask anyone this list. The Docents of eIreland are Now Recruiting! Docents are also strongly encouraged to where this avatar...

(What, can't I have a little fun?)

Disclaimer: This is not what will necessarily accomplish during this term, just merely ideas I have. I doubt I'll have time to implement some of them. I've also neither consulted this with Eldarion nor Nogin.

I am actually rather confused on why Information (which updates everyone on the goings on in Ireland) is being merged with New Citizens while Education (which aims to educate new citizens remains separate.)

Feedback and more ideas are welcome.

Disclaimer 2: I'm really tired and this whole thing is a bit rushed so if anything doesn't make any sense, deal with it. I'll also add things as I re-remember them.

Sincerely,
JGutenberg
Co-Minister of Information & Citizenry
