Military's Coming Together, Eh?

Day 1,031, 02:19 Published in Norway USA by graduallynevele

So while that's in the works, how about we all do something beneficial to help the country? You guys like fighting, right? Defending the homeland and fighting valiantly, proving yourselves as heroes and veterans, alike, in the great battles at home or around the world?

But what about when you aren't in game?

WELL, DO I EVER HAVE THE ANSWER FOR YOU.

Did you know that you can deploy on battlefields that aren't under fire? It's one of those fun V2 features that the admin didn't really talk about much, if at all.

It can actually be extremely useful in battle. Unlike in V1, where we had a "wall" of damage, the dynamics of V2 are much quicker and more permanent; you can't just fight anytime in the day to repel an attack. With the new features involving tiles and player-vs-player combat, a lot can happen in just half an hour. Battle changing events take place in the first and last hours of every battle.

When a country attacks a neighboring region, they tend to have armies and militias immediately rush the battlefield to occupy hospitals, defense systems, the capital, and grab as many tiles as possible to win the battle. Sometimes, it can be rather hard to get those things back, especially for small nations.

However, if a battlefield is already well protected by idling citizens, the enemy has to fight through them to get to their goals.

You can be deployed even when you are not logged in.

The Americans do it:

Far Eastern Russia, "West Alaska".

The Serbians do it:

Liaoning (China), "Lion King"

Even smaller nations like Finland do it:

Vestlandet, "Valhalla"

Now, take Finland, for example: Yesterday, the UK attacked Vestlandet and Sorlandet, aiming to score some high oil and maybe a better grasp on the nation. However, because of the many deployed soldiers from Finland and her allies on the hospitals and capital of Vestlandet, Finland was able to keep them safe from enemy hands, and then able to push back to capture tiles and in the end, win.

This kind of maneuver can mean the difference between being entirely overrun and holding off an initial assault.

So, if you're not fighting elsewhere or doing anything, deploy to the capital or a hospital in one of our regions, in case of attack:

Svalbard and Jan Mayen
Ostlandet
Trondelag

Please note, this will appear on your profile, stating where you are currently deployed. In order to deploy anywhere else in the world, you will need to withdraw from whatever battlefield you are currently deployed in.

You will not be able to fight in Western Australia, for example, if you are deployed in Madrid.
