Interview with AlexMCS182

A person who can be regarded as a new generation of the tanks, he is known to some and yet unknown to others. His name is AlexMCS182, a French individual who is thought of as one of the driving forces of the French army. He decided several key battles throughout his "tank career" and made an influence on how France is seen overseas. To the unknowing eye he might just be someone whose name appears quite often on the screen of normal eRepublik citizens, but to say the least, there is far more behind than meets the eye. This time he decided to explain some of his secrets, feelings and thoughts about this game. The person that means the world to him in this game is his Foxy, as he likes to refer to her, he explained how he met her and how he thinks about her, a love story in the making.

Could you tell us more about yourself?
Well, my name is "Alexandre" in French, but it's easier to call me "Alex". I'm 21 and live in France, I'm a student, doing a degrees in English at the university. I'm a fan of music, video games and skateboarding. I play guitar, drums, and bass. As it is written in my bio : "Pop-Punk is my religion, ArisaChan my passion"! I joined eRepublik 2 years ago. But, I was a two-clicker in the first year, then I started to get more involved in the game, I started tanking in August 2011 and still keep doing it today! I'm also part of the French government since December 2011.

And I sometimes play guitar for kids in my conservatory. 🙂

When people go to your profile they are able to see a name ArisaChan, could you be more specific who she is and how she changed you?
Haaa, good question ! ArisaChan is My Foxy, the girl I love, she's so nice, I met her on the battlefield in Bavaria while Poland was trying to invade Germany again. I'm so glad to have met her because she, since this day, makes my days better. And, yes, you're right, she changed me a bit, I tank a bit less, I'm more open-minded I think... But I can't really judge myself, it's something I really don't like... So, I'll just say, ArisaChan is My Foxy, the girl I love and will always love, I'm the Fox and so happy to be with her.

Where did you find this game?
I found eRepublik in a news published on a website called "Jeux-video.com" which is the #1 of all video games website in France. It was around the time when Spain was invading eFrance, the news was in order to create a eBaby Boom saying that eFrance needed us.

You are a known tanker, how does someone decide to spend his real life money on this game?
Another good question... Well, I like fighting, helping ecountries, and people... At the beginning it was only for the fun but then I found out I could change a battle on my own... I'm not only tanking with my gold, I also offer a few tanks and food to random kind people and friends. I like helping or offering presents. It might sound stupid to spend real money in this game, but I don't regret it at the moment, it allowed me to meet so many nice people and of course My Foxy. The thing that disappoints me a bit is, at least that's my opinion, that gold is quite expensive compared to the other games from the same genre and games all together...

What do you like about eRepublik?
I think everyone will agree with me, the Community... I only care about my military stats, I full train everyday, because I am a bit weak compared to some other tanks. I don't use the land and its building. I sometimes like reading some articles, it relaxes me. But the community is still the best thing in this game, as I said I met so much kind and nice people and exchanging with them is a real pleasure. Oops and another thing I like, is that the story of eRepublik is infinite, unlimited, there is no end actually, and I'm just too curious to know who will do what and what will happen.

Do you think eRepublik influenced on you in real life in a good way?
Yes and no, yes because, I improved my knowledge and my english. No because I sometimes spend a bit too much time on it. But I don't regret playing the game at all of course.

Which countries do you prefer the most beside France?
ECroatia because when you help them, they help you in return and count a lot of great player, I'll sacrifice myself for eCroatia when I can, like this afternoon. ePortugal because I had the chance to live with them during a month and that community counts a lot of nice people. eGermany, eBrazil, eUSA, eGreece, eRomania, eBulgaria and all the others allies... But I have to e-travel a bit more to get a better opinion to be honest.

What would you change in eRepublik?
Haaa I really have no clue, the game is good, admins just should improve it more, that's why we can see many rebellions, because changes are not often made and the reality is the game is still looking like a beta even 4 years after its creation... They should re-insert ingame chatroom, so beginners could be in touch with the community in-game. So they shouldn't have to go on IRC which can be annoying for a new player. Adding "Minister" statut to the political module would be a nice idea, so then, we know who is a minister of what and it is more official.

The military module could be better in my opinion.

Do you think this game can relate to real life?
Absolutely not, unfortunately, I know that some ingame wars are still done because of IRL issue, but it's stupid because this game is an opportunity to change the things and make them better virtually.
