History repeats itself
Schoft
As much as its nice to have a bit of peace in eAustralia, we all know that history repeats itself.
I hope we do not forget our NAP with Indonesia under our CP Cerri, when Xavier Griffith was CP we saw how trustworthy our new "friends" Indonesia were. Among the long list of other great deeds by our friends.
So are we going down the path of being cuddly with Indonesia and they WILL betray us, or do we get closer to our previous allies?
I am a bit tired of seeing:
"Military campaigns
Australia is not involved in any active battles."
So whats it going to be eAustralia are we being given a false sense of security. Or just face the facts.

Are you kidding me? Australia is sick of indo, but once you stop fighting with indo....you guys just cry and want them back.
Better to burn out than to fade away, jkli5
Schoft, the NAP was actually broken by our allies at the request of the CP of the day, as I recall. I for one am sick of being continually wiped. It's time for a different approach.
That's all nice Schoft. But you didn't mention the fact every time we war eIndonesia WE LOSE MANY PLAYERS. I don't understand why people just cannot comprehend that. I am sick of tired in being a constant war with eIndonesia. We ARE the bitch. Will they betray us? Yes. But is apparent we are more than likely too. We are just as bad as them in keeping deals.
Every country is betrayed in every deal ever made ever, ever. It is just a matter of time. Instead crying about this, why not build our population while we can? And when have we ever deserted allies?
Did China not retain Sumatra? and win Java?
Did we not just fuck up the deal winning South Australia?
Our own hypocrisy meets no means.
You are just burned out and defeated Binda, so blind to the obvious truths. Our Gov is embarrassing our people with their naivety, Scottty's article to china is what the truth is.
You want us to forget our friends and become slaves... because you are sick of continually being wiped.
We will be wiped again regardless of how many times you wash their feet, or how long you walk 4 paces behind them down the street. The moment it suits them they will turn on eAus and you are failing to prepare the nation for that and even denying it will ever happen.
@Callumh: Will they betray us? Yes.
At least you accept the inevitable.
It's time for a different approach!!!!! I see some people do welcome our new Indonesian Overlords.
WE LOSE MANY PLAYERS. Lets face it, thats erepublik. We do arent Serbians that can play on the "patriotic duty" of country. Explain to me that I had about 30 people joining through Whirlpool using my link, 20 didnt even made it past level 3. As Hinokai previous said its easier to get his friends to join some kind of church than to let them play erepublik.
Oh an out of context quote.
Isn't hypocritical that we are assuming eIndonesia will betray us, though we just won South Australia, an eIndonesian region under the Peace deal?
A reason people do not join is because the game had kept continuously changing and no one wanted to play it. Some people just aren't attracted to the game and why they quit. But as we have seen recently some new players do. And when they have no clue what is going on and see that eAustralia doers not have a country, why would they stay?
South Australia, an eIndonesian region......I stopped reading there :/
South Australia, an eIndonesian region......I stopped reading there x 2
There you with your nationalistic bullshit again. Stop the faux patriotism and start thinking what is best for the community.
Callumh you betrayed how you really think. I bet you did not intend that.
"South Australia, an eIndonesian region" I did not stop reading but something just died a little.
"Occupied South Australia" is the reality there.
Under the deal it is technically an eIndonesian region, am i wrong?
Let's punch on, this game is about war, so let's have at it.
You need a rather large player to go to war with eIndonesia in hope of gaining something from.
infin's comment made me laugh
Indonesia is not reliable
betrayed Brazil, and turned his back on until then your best ally of Argentina.
as in RW yesterday, if need be pay back the cost of RW
and fight to liberate the regions of Australia.
Australia> Indonesia
I for one congratulate the Australian Government for their change of direction that I was forewarning the country about for months yet fell on deaf ears. Perhaps the continual wiping will wake people up.
Translation from TJ Norton:
I for one welcome our Indonesian Overlords for their kindness. I was telling the country for months to bow down and listen to our new overlords, yet it fell on deaf ears. Perhaps the continual wiping will make people bow.
Immigration, babyboom, and retainment: the only way we can keep Indo out.
Immigration: people complain its a PTO!!
Babyboom: I have not seen that happen before or after multinesia ruled here
Retainment: 1 in 10
Not trying to be a smartass but its reality, do make me eat my words.
I want to see it
Also remember that Australia does not operate in a vacuum. Its not just Australia & Indonesia.
There are Brazil, China, the USA to add to the mix for starters.
And Callum, you arn't wrong but you arnt right either. The word technically proves that. Indonesia is occupying WA & SA through use of force. They have no claim or rights there
i am a young player compared to most of you and the older payers are over reacting about the peace. end of the day we wouldnt have quit our alliance if we were not betrayed by our allies, they were the ones that used us as a doorway to eIndonesia, and when they were beaten back we paid the price of getting wiped. is it really worth staying on the bad side of them? maybe next time we will get wiped completely and forever
@Binda - Indonesia was the one who broke the NAP. They aided Brazil to invade us 2 years ago... in direct breach of the NAP.
Gee Mr Crumpets, still talking about 2 years ago?
Ur eRep life must be boring, and that breach was all u can talk about to ur grandchild
Rawst, that was when the constant betrayals, PTO's and invasions began. So its the starting point.
Hard truth remains; bare enthusiasm won't carry the day.
If we choose to stand up to Indo, then let it be at the moment when we are most prepared to pull it off.
Not every time someone runs for PM and needs to highlight their leadership ambitions.
The issue here is not intentions, it's our degree of preparedness to withstand continued warfare.
I'm not interested in working on 0 region bonus for months on end. And not all people belong to the privileged lot who pay RL money into this and wouldn't care less how this swings in the end.
So if you guys wanna be taken for real, lay out some facts and figures so we can check out if you really mean business. Otherwise take up a hobby or something..
While we're not fighting with Indonesia we're supporting our allies. Current DoD orders are fight for Croatia, China and USA. It isn't like we're turning our back on anyone or missing out on the ability to fight.
I have enjoyed being able to get started in this game and have some reasonable productivity due to resource bonuses. I have enjoyed being able to run for congress which didn't happen last term because we had no country. We cannot defeat Indonesia alone, so we either make our own way and deal with Indonesia or rely on permanently begging for assistance from other powers. Either way we're relying on somebody's good graces...
We made a deal, let's show some honour and integrity by sticking to it.
