There was movement at the station, for the word had passed around
That the ARP was risible
And had joined the dark colourspray - another party they had found,
So all the cranks were visible.
All the veteran and noted players from units near and far
Have collected at the party overnight,
For the Euros love hard fighting where the weapon bonuses are,
And the old warhorses see the coming election with "delight".

My most humble apologies for murdering Banjo Patterson. At least I stopped after 1 verse...
If you care for politics and the coming election, please, pay attention to who you are voting for this week.

Many thanks to Merovingiano for the fancy-pants linebreak. Cheers dude, you're awesome!

Keep the election clean and vote KHMC!
Keep the election fun and vote ADP
Cleanliness is next to Godliness, I'd rather be clean than fun. 🙂
Elections aren't supposed to be fun!! They're supposed to be jaw clenching days filled with stress and checkups every 10 minutes. 😕
Ilene, that is just the DoFA that is jaw clenching and stress filled.
Lany... anywhere you are, is fun 😉
Be careful Rusty, they will make us get a room. 🙂
I think I would rather be fun and dirty.
Was that Abbey Road?
"The man from Snowy River"
Not the movie, the first verse of Banjo Patterson's poem.
The man from Snowy River was from down under.
Que?
Banjo Patterson is about as Aussie as poetry gets. The movie "The Man from Snowy River" was ok, a bit drab by modern standards though.
The Snowy River is a real place, in eastern New South Wales. We built the Snowy River Hydro scheme 70 odd years ago. Depression era make work project, like the Hoover Dam (if I remember right - I hail from ththe other side of the country). Rather impressive piece of work, even by modern standards.
You must be older than I thought if you built it 70 years ago
Yes, you are correct. The Hoover Dam was Depression Era make-work. However, in the grand scheme of World War 2 it turned out to be critical. Smelting aluminum takes a lot of electricity. Hoover Dam made the aircraft industry in Los Angeles possible. And there was still electricity to spare, which was used to purify Uranium into Plutonium. Coupled with its closeness to Uranium mines in Arizona and New Mexico, Plutonium could be created near where it was mined, thus making the Manhatton Project possible in secret. Thus the U.S.A. got the nuke first.
At least vote for me in the ARP?
The PP hasnt screwed me over yet?
You can only vote for the party these days...
By the time you realise you're eleventh from twelve candidates it's too late. Join a real party today JR! 🙂
