In a five to one majority, congress voted to lower the VAT on Houses from 10% to 1% last night, significantly reducing the cost of the most-expensive consumer product in The New World.
This publication would like to see this downward taxation trend continue and is seeking to endorse prospective congress candidates who will:
- lower the tax burden for citziens by reducing (or abolishing) the VAT
- have ideas to develop a closer eIndian community
- can help to encourage further investment in eIndia, such as reducing Income Tax
Congress elections are five days away, and with only ten places to fill in the Lok Sabha, candidates should be making their voices heard on these matters now.

I personally believe this is another step forward for India. VAT was where the government fell down in Austria; We had huge amounts of VAT on the products that didn't circulate so much, and a little on such neccesities as food etc. This meant that except for moving tickets, weapons, and gifts it was near impossible to set up succesful buisnesses in anything at all. Thereby we had a huge wellness problem and a even bigger problem trying to make new hospitals and thus we absouluty thrashed by the Italians and the PEACE resistance.
Good work congress!
Yes, but personally i wouldnt go to such an extent as abolishing it completely - unless we are sure we have a substansial amount of funds within the bank.
voted btw, good article
For a developing economy which needs investment minimal VAT is the way. The best approach is to put VAT on a industry after its been developed and is competitive with the imports.
