Deception of the mighty ones

I tend to often ask myself if eRepublik could be and is different than real life, and if it isn't why is that so. It's hard to give a precise answer on that, in some way it isn't real life in some way it's even a bigger representation of a virtual world that turns around real persons. And that's exactly why things are like that, humans lead this game, our greed, will to get above others, will to become the strongest, it's just our human nature to dominate others. Some like to say that there's no way things will repeat themselves in eRepublik as they did in real life, but just look at it... Countries are dire to make someone else lose, they are fanatically wasting loads of gold for what exactly? For a few pixels on an internet map? Things don't get better than that, the representation of what being subdued to someone else in real life and being above someone here couldn't be better presented, just look at it. They like to say if they were at the top nothing like that would happen, they like to say if things were how they want them to be, they still wouldn't be like that, but that's not true. Power corrupts, human mind is corrupted when it comes to getting a higher position, no one will stop because it's a right thing to do, they will stop because they grabbed to much, too much to digest, too much to make it through as an ordinary country.


How things work in real life and eRepublik.

I'm not suggesting that all of the big nations in both of the worlds are the way I represented it, it actually is just as an indication that politics is lead by same old people in here and out there, it is and will always be the same, we just aren't aware of it. Corruption will happen, stealing of country's properties will happen, but can you stop? You can stop if you stop human mind and that's an impossible thing. The other thing that I would like to discuss is the complex of being less worthy than someone, Serbs may have it, Macedonians may have it, possibly everyone that is treated small in real life against its neighbor have it and it does feel right to express those feelings in eRepublik - at least to some and the effects may be devastating or even positive, you can get baby booms by being a complete idiot and giving away nationalistic feelings... That's not the way things should work, people should be attracted to something because they can enjoy how the whole idea works, the assumption that you can make a positive experience out of it, but that's an illusion all together.

So, what do big countries strive for in eRepublik? Is it money, money and again money? No, that's not it, it's only to be above someone else, to get the feeling that due to getting a sign "Victory" they think they achieved something, I like to address it as an Illusionist Almighty, it's what eRepublik is. It makes you spend money for clicking, fighting while some country flags appear, foolish as it sounds in the first place, it's true. But that still doesn't explains the full concept of big countries in eRepublik. Diplomacy is a b**** more or less, so is propaganda that is related to that and now, when you ask yourself about it, isn't it the same as in real life? You make people think that they are liked by a country, you make them feel welcome and at the other hand plot to backstab them with the first opportunity you get.

It would be hard to express the idea of this article to you, dear readers, if I'm not more precise about things. Imagine it like this, Serbia is in real life getting the feeling other countries are pissing at her, which is more or less a true definition, and will without a doubt express it in eRepublik. It's not because individuals like to or must do it, it is just in their mentality - subconsciously. Create the feeling that you are above someone in a game. If you can't reach that status in real life, why wouldn't you in a virtual game and beside that you have thousands of real life Serbs that join your cause. It's almost the same story with other superpowers in this game and even in real life when we are at it.

To continue about it all, we can easily see how things evolve about human mentality. Even if my goal was to write about the big countries and their attitude in this game, you simply cannot avoid that fact as much as you try to, you cannot... To dominate, that's something we cannot avoid, we just don't think about it and think of it as a right thing to do. What will the weaker countries think is none of our importance and if everyone thinks like that, then things are pretty much obvious, why they evolve like that. If you are on top of your game either in real life or eRepublik, main goal should always be to make friends through diplomacy, war is and always should be the last possibility, although it's hard to relate to eRepublik, where the whole game turns around it, at least in real life it's the case. Be responsible with your power, use it in a wise way and listen to the opinion of others, if things are like that, everything will be okay - shame that happens only in rare cases. Actions of a few can change the actions of many.
