Beste lezers,

Dit is alweer het tweede nummer van de Cultuurkrant van het ministerie van Onderwijs & Cultuur. Wij wensen je opnieuw veel leesplezier en hopen dat ook jij lid wordt van deze cultuurkrant die wij speciaal voor jullie, de burger, in elkaar zetten.

BEROEMDE UITSPRAKEN VAN GROTE NEDERLANDERS:
Aangezien het hier op eRepublik soms de gewoonte lijkt om alles maar te roepen wat in ons op komt, leek het ons wel aardig eens wat uitspraken op te dissen van Nederlanders die een rol van betekenis hebben gespeeld in onze geschiedenis. Tja, dan begin je natuurlijk met Willem de Zwijger (bijnaam Willem van Oranje):

Een van zijn bekendste uitspraken was: Ik kan niet goedkeuren dat vorsten over het geweten van hun onderdanen willen heersen en hun de vrijheid van geloof en godsdienst ontnemen. Deze woorden werden uitgesproken op 31 december 1564 in de Raad van State. Met deze woorden werd het conflict met de koning van Spanje (Filips II) onder woorden gebracht.

For it seems habit here in eRepublik to shout about anything that comes to mind, we felt it would be a good idea to present you some quotes by some great names that played a role of importance to our history. Well, why not start with William the Silent (nickname William of Orange):

One of his most famous quotes is: II cannot approve of princes attempting to rule the consciences of their subjects and wanting to rob them of the liberty of faith. These words were spoken on December 31th, 1564 in the Dutch Council of State. With these words he expressed the conflict with the king of Spain (Filips II).
