Cousteau: Thanks, and congrats for Marcus Suridius
Jacques Cousteau
“Greetings, fellow citizens of Ireland.
Thank you to all of you who have supported, and voted for me. I think, this was the most exciting election since I`m in Ireland, and I am sure that many other folks thinks the same.
What we saw yesterday it was an “epic” battle between two very strong camps. The race was very close till the last minutes, and both of the candidates got a lot of support. And you see, folks, this is the true power of Ireland, the Irish people, who can work, and fight together if they want. And what is more important, they CAN form a cohesive society.
I am so deeply grateful to all of you for the great honor of your support and for all you have done for me. I wish the outcome had been different, my friends. (Marcus Suridius 92 votes –Jacques Cousteau 89 votes). The road was a difficult one from the outset. But your support and friendship never wavered. I cannot adequately express how deeply indebted I am to you.
To be honest, after I saw the results I didn`t knew what to do. Marcus wanted to win so badly, I saw his shouts and comments yesterday, which he deleted after, of course. We all saw them. I was thinking that maybe I shall compensate those shouts somehow…but does it worth? I don`t think so. To start a civil war, is definitely not an option now, when we need to form a cohesive society. What we have to do now, is to learn how to cooperate with the other camp. And that`s why I`d like to congratulate for Marcus Suridius, for winning the Presidential election in April. My friends, we have come to the end of a long journey. The Irish people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly. I didn`t wanted to tell this before the election, but I have to admit that Marcus Suridius is a legend, and I`m sure that he`ll be a great president. These are difficult times for our country, and I pledge to him today to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.
To all my fellows, from mirek12345, Ariovistus, Kolshire and Anthony Colby, to every last volunteer who fought so hard, and supported me I`d like to say thank you. Thanks a lot.
A lost election will never mean more to me than the privilege of your faith and friendship.
We fought as hard as we could, and we lost. It`s okay folks, to be disappointed now, but we need to move on, and help winners in creating a stronger Ireland.
And Marcus: It was an honor to run against you.
Thank you again, and God bless Ireland. Thank you all very much.
Have a nice day.
Jacques Cousteau,
The Party President of the Irish Union Party
The Irish Minister of Immigration
Teachta Dála for Northeast of Ireland. “

It was a good run mate
Good man, Jacques. I hope you run again.
Unlucky mate.
Hard luck in the Elections, well done and I congratulate you for your maturity in Defeat. These elections were one of the most compelling examples of the country getting back on its feet since the wipe in December.
Good luck in the future!
Hard luck.

Good run, JC. Looking at the results, you should consider running another time.
Fair play Jacques, good effort.
Unlucky man you made it a great race, you'll be CP sooner or later cause you have loads of support.
Well played Jacques there is always a next time.
It was an amazing election and it's a shame someone had to lose. Very well played Jacques and fair play to you.
Congrats Marcus and the best of luck to you!
Finally Ireland has done something right..
Also
>implying you would start a civil war
^joke
I do not think you deserved it but I will say congratulations on some how convincing 89 people that you were capable. Truly outstanding. In future, get some real experience, apply for MoFA or MoD, sctually work your way into the Country President seat. I understand this will be perceived as me being a "dick" or an "asshole" or even a "teenager" or what ever you call me but if you can see past the hostility then maybe you will be open to the advice.
^ what a douche
^Unionist
Come at me bro
T'es un brave homme, Jacques.
Good job Jacques. It was close. Very close. But it was not to be so it is good to see you support Marcus. I will also. He is the President and I am a loyal son of Ireland.
07 Marcus.
Congrats on your BCH election, Marcus!
Well spoken, congradz to both of you
Also don't forget to vote JvB for the douchebag of the month award
Congrats to you for a well run campaign and congrats to Marcus for his victory. It was nice to see a fair and balanced election with no mudslinging,
Two excellent candidates this month and the votes reflect it. Good luck to Marcus and much respect to Cousteau o7
Tough luck Jacques. At least you lost to a good opponent, and fought a good election.
Sorry Jacques, we at the BCH decided Marcus was a better choice for us.
class act like always.
Jacques or Marcus... hmmmm.
Really, it's a win/win for eIreland, no matter who came out victorious.
Congratz, Marcus
Fair play Jacques, you're being very gracious in defeat.
tbh I don't know much about you and I do be around quite a bit, which I find somewhat suprising for a CP candidate which nearly won. I know you've been here in eIreland for quite some time, but looking through your newspaper there's not much going on there, well at least not so much which would make me think that you'd be running for CP.
The people who worked for your election obviously put in quite a bit of effort as I expected Marcus to win by a greater margin. Perhaps you got a lot of votes from being involved in a few different parties as party president in the past. I don't really know.
Anywho, well done to Marcus and Jacques twas a p enthralling race 🙂
Can't believe I just used the word "enthralling" in relation to erepublik...
gee whizz Is all my working life going to be this dull? 😛
Get used to it Connell XD.
Fair play Jacques you are an honorable player and I wish you the best of luck in the future.o7
you have my respect o7
great run !
Thanks a lot to all of you.🙂
Voted, man.
Hard Luck Jacques, but I'm sure people will remember how honorable you've been, when you run again!
Good point, DerBrad
I think Jacques has made himself the leading candidate for the May elections. But, that's a long way off, for now, and anything can happen.
It was a fine show! Great battle between two strong candidates. Jacques will always be our star MoImm!
I could hardly even read this, your english is just terrible.
Good job JC, that was really narrow run.
I think I'm going to nominate "fair play" as phrase of the month in Ireland. Seems as though I'm seeing it everywhere lately...
Anyway, good run JC. As others have said, hard luck this time but you will definitely be CP eventually with that attitude.
Props.
v+s, can you give back, pleez
