Congressional Checkup

Day 726, 09:36 Published in USA USA by Alliance for Good Government

I know I posted this in my paper, but I am going to continue doing the Congressional Checkup at least once a term though the AGG. Results will be posted in my personal paper and the Watchdog.

A little clarification for those that commented. I common complaint was the size of the pool. Only 15 congressmen when we have 51 states. Note we only elected people in 49 of those. Of those 49 only 46 checked into the forums. Of those 46 only 40 or so have actually bother checking into their committees or making any comment at all. So 15/40 congressmen is actually 38% of the pool who actually care to do the minimum. Another complaint was new guys just sitting back and learning. That's great, I am glad you guys are learning and so willing to be patient. For those who are actually active and quiet, I hope my survey just encourages you to be a little less quiet and return next month. For those who just don't care and aren't participating, please don't return to congress and give your seat to someone who wants to be there.

Anyway, this is my first survey. The rest will be worked through with teh AGG's help. I will improve and expand. I plan on conducting another checkup around the 20th so results can be displayed before election time.

Here are the results from my recent survey again.

Number is total in favor minus any not in favor of returning

Hopefully congressmen will see this, get an understanding of where they stand in the eyes of their fellow civil servants. If they are not happy with it, take steps to correct it.

This is not to be partisan, its an overview of congress regardless of party affiliation.

Thanks
CrashNBurn
