Blueprint #16 - Sports!

Day 1,247, 09:11 Published in Norway Norway by Yan Hoek

This is a bit of a rehash of one of my earlier suggestions, but hopefully this fits in a little better with the current system.

There have been several suggestions to get Sports up and running on eRepublik. Normally any suggestions involve using third party sites or posting first on certain articles, but none have ever been integral to the actual game. So what I am proposing here is how we can get a real injection of sports into eRep.

Basically what I am proposing is something like the Military Unit, except this time we can call it a Team. Membership would be limited to say 15 citizens.

It wouldn't cost as much (40 G is a lot for something that doesn't do much). Something like 10-20G would be fairer.

This team can then compete against other teams in the country. Every couple of days the team has the opportunity to play against another team.

The team manager would pick 10 of the team's players to play in the match and then individual factors such as health, work skill, strength and how many matches they have played in a row would all come into play to decide who wins when the 2 teams meet (with a healthy dose of randomness to keep it interesting😉.

Playing a match would cost each player 10 health, but they would receive 1xp as a reward.

I'm sure some missions could be arranged for winning a match, winning the league after x games etc

It wouldn't take much organisation to create a national league. Or a international one... the local teams could easily loan their best players out to the national team.

And best of all, it is very flexible for different countries. The team wouldn't be 'stuck' with a single sport so each country could organise a league around whatever sport they wish, be it Football, Ice Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, Rugby....

Tiddly winks...

...all using the same framework. Basically any team sport you like.

*Not quite sure how to implement a 'random' factor into it. But I'm sure someone with a better knowledge of coding probably does.
