Do you ever wonder what goes on in the Government?
Aurora does.
To have a well-functioning congress, the congress needs to know as much as possible about how the state of the union is.
They need to know how much money is earned, how much is spent, what the money is spent on and what projects needs funding. Without this knowledge, no congress is ever able to make any good decisions.
This is why we in Aurora wants more transparency. For too long everything in the Government has been a secret. The congress is not presented with any figures on income or expenses. The congress does not know how much the Ministry of Education spend on newborns or any other activities for that matter. The congress does not have any idea how the TSM funding is being spent, but they are still expected to grant more money each month. The congress have no idea how any money is being spent or why it is done so, but they are still expected to vote for donations from the Country Treasury to Riksbanken.
This has to end. We need to know what the money is spent on and why. The minimum requirement must be, that every department that needs funding at least makes extended bookkeeping. The congress needs to know, that whatever comes in or goes out of the state vaults, is carefully noted. The congress needs, as a minimum, that the current Government present them with a state budget. How else will they ever be able to put together a fair and sound tax and VAT system.
And that is what Aurora works on everyday to make happen. We spend a lot of time promoting transparency and we will keep doing this, until it happens.
Economical
Aurora is a party that is placed in the dead centre of the political scale. Why we have chosen this position is quite obvious, when you take a closer look at our political agenda.
We are very insisting on having a fair tax and VAT system and that is not the case in Homonavia at the moment..
Everyday eSweden as a country, and thus Homonavia as a union, makes more than 100,000 SEK on taxes and VAT. That equals more than three million SEK a month.
Aurora would have no issues with this, if it had not been for the fact that the union only has expenses between 500,000 and 800,000 SEK a month. There is no reason to have a tax and VAT system that generates four to six times more than what is needed.
We are very aware, that the union needs to have some cash reserves, so it can spend a lot of money very quickly if needed and thus we would settle for a system that would earn the state 1,500,000 SEK a month.
We have done calculations on this and the results were:
1% income tax on all kinds of products.
15% VAT in all kinds of products.
This would give exactly one and a half million SEK each month, which is at least double of what is needed and therefore plenty to save up for worse times, if they are ever to come.
With one and a half million, Homonavia will be able to have a great military and an excellent education system - and that is what we aim to have.
Society
If you look at the daily eLife, you will see a lot of activity from Aurora members. We are everywhere. You see us in the media regularly, we are on IRC, we are on the forum and if you setup a meeting for Homonavians, you will probably also see us show up there. For us the community is most of the game. Yes we work, eat, fight and do all the other stuff that everyone else does, but it is in the community we live.
That is why you will see, that every time there is a discussion in congress, or most other places in erepublik.se, there is at least one Aurora person participating. We have an opinion about everything and we like to express our opinions.
When an Aurora candidate is elected to congress, you can be very sure, that this congress member is active. Aurora do not have official candidates that is only in the congress for the 5 gold. We are there to make a difference. We are there to participate.

New Citizens
Aurora wants an education system that makes it easier for any newborn to be new in the game. Earlier we developed The Wolfpack System - a mentor system where people are grouped together with a mentor, so that they not only gets to know an old player, but also a batch of other new players. This system have already been partly integrated in the educational system, but we would like to see it used even more, as it is currently only a few newcomers that gets a Wolfpack.
Therefore, Aurora is planning to start its own version of the program, which will make being a newborn a completely unique experience.
Aurora is a party, that likes to reward the ones, that is a reward worthy. So if you are newborn and you do well in our "training programme", then you will be rewarded for this. As an Aurora Spark, you will get a full introduction to the game and will get to know a lot of new people, making the gaming experience much better than if you were just playing on your own. And on top of that, you will be greatly rewarded for making an effort.
What is Aurora Sparks?
The system is a mentor program, where you as a newborn member of Homonavia get to know new people. You will be able to communicate with more experienced players very easily at any time. If you need help, you will get it. The system provides a learning experience not provided anywhere else and while you learn how to play the game, you will be rewarded based on your progress.
All in all, being a part of the Aurora Sparks programme makes it much easier to become successful in eRepublik later on.
This system is great, as there is nothing worse than being in a game, where you know no one. And when you find yourself in that position, you are more likely to quit the game, than if you have someone that can guide you and be your friend.
Increased English Language Usage
Aurora is the only all-English speaking party in Homonavia. If you are not educated in speaking/writing Swedish, then Aurora is definitely the party for you. Aurora promotes the use of the English language daily and it is due to this promotion, that we today have an English speaking government and, for the most part, an English speaking congress.
English is a language, that most of the world speaks today, if they are communicating across country borders. Therefore it is only natural, that the union between eDenmark and eSweden has English as the main language used.
If we one day succeed to have an all English speaking Homonavia, it will be much easier for us to include eNorway and eFinland in the union, which is something we in Aurora would like to see happen.
By promoting English, we also make sure that foreigners feel welcome in Homonavia, thus contributing to our country.
Expanding The Union
As mentioned above, Aurora would like for the Homonavian union to include eNorway and eFinland. As it is now, that is not possible. One of the reasons is because Swedish is the main language in the community. Another reason is, that especially eNorway do not like the eSwedish attitude, which is shown regularly in the community. We are sure, that we someday can expand the union with these two countries, but it will not happen before the relationship between the two countries gets much better. This means, that the Homonavian community will have to show much more respect for our Scandinavian brothers and a minimum requirement will be, that the community speaks English as a first language.
In Aurora we work daily for promoting the union to eNorway and eFinland and this we will continue with. We believe the union has a lot to offer our Scandinavian brothers and that our brothers have a lot to offer us. Together we would be much stronger than we are today.
Union Treaty
Aurora wishes to make a union treaty. The treaty should contain basic text about how the union is built, who it consists of, who is the leader and what the purpose of the union is.
Aurora will, as soon as possible, present our suggestion on how this treaty could look like.
Military
Any union in the world needs a strong military, Homonavia is no exception.
Aurora wishes to work for a well-organized Homonavian Military, in which communication is the key point. Without superb communication and tactical strategy, no army is strong.
Only through unity are we strong, and unity goes through you and everyone else within Homonavia.
Aurora wishes a military, that is more transparent that it is at the moment. We have no objections to spend a lot of SEK on the military, as long as we can see, that we are getting our money's worth.
Summa Summarum
If you are for a fair tax/VAT system, you like to be a part of the community, you like a good education system, an expanded union and an excellent military, then Aurora is definitely the party for you.
Everyone is welcome, as long as they work for Aurora politics and speak English. Everything in Aurora goes on in English, even when it is two people from the same country talking.
No one is treated differently, whether they are newborn or old.
No matter how "old" you are in the game, you will be able to candidate for congress, as long as you promote Aurora politics.

So, your so called tax policies are solely based on your calculations concerning tax revenues?
We're a market oriented party Volcker. We agree that spending cash on beginners and our men and women in uniform is a worthy cause - but right now we're earning more money than we can transfer away from the treasury. Surely, there's no point in that.
@pho3nix: I know, what I meant was that the suggested tax rates are based solely on desired amount of tax revenues. Is there a reason why you want the same tax rate across all industries? Or is this the case since you do not know what tax rates should be set for each industry?
There is no need to have different taxes for each industry at the moment, as everyone can force the erepublik buying script to buy their goods.
Which means, that it does not matter to have overproduction, as overproduction will not force prices down any longer.
@Flitwick: Well, the prices of which the script buy goods at are not time invariant, are they?
I sell all day/night.
When you try to sell an item (not RM) the system suggests a price.
Take that price, add VAT to it and sell it for that amount on the market.
Every hour the script will buy some of your goods 🙂
Yes, I'm well aware of this script but what would happen to the suggested price if the equilibrium price (without the script) would rise well above the script price? Is there a possibility that the script price is not fixed (at least not fixed in the medium or long run)?
If the price goes above the script price, the market will function well. That would be the perfect eWorld.
Exactly, and at that point we might need specific tax rates for each industry.
That is true and if they change the whole game, we might need something complete different on other areas.
We are dealing with how it is right now, not how it might be.
When the might be is, then we look into it and see if things should be changed.
