So, basically, you started a gifts company in a country that had no demand or declared need for gifts. And, to make sure you and your company profit, you want the government to purchase your items at a higher price than it needs to pay for those items?

A government that doesn't support "its" businesses. The government doesn't own any businesses. You, as the business owner, do, and you bear the responsibility of selecting a business that can survive in our economic climate and then assuming the risk of starting such a business. The government's responsibility is to make sure that our tax dollars are being spent so that our country is getting the best value possible for our citizens' welfare.

We're not a ridiculously wealthy nation. Don't blame MoIA for pursuing a cost-effective strategy.

So when you start a company like that, you are expected to attain losses till a war is declared.

Chen, I felt that the wellness plan would be more than happy to try and buy from it's own citizens, rather than from a foreign company. And Arjaa, what about the plan?

Yes, the government should fund the money back into the system rather than outside the country and therefore make an improvement to a different country.

I would like to see a wellness plan put in place since it is the only way to ensure that gift companies economically thrive and that our citizens are able to live their lives with high wellness and income.

But let's not forget the further benefits. If the company is recieving higher revenue then more people can be employed possibly with higher wages. This will lead to a higher productivity rate which means more to import abroad. Who knows, may be we can even start selling these extra gifts for very cheap prices (provided the Indian economy is stable of course).

Linking in to my aforementioned point, if the wages are increased (since more profit is being made), than the average eIndian expenditure will drastically increase. People will have more money in their pockets and will be able to purchase more items.

And lets not forget, not only will this plan improve the economy but it will increase the wellness of the average Indian citizen. This in turn will also improve productivity and strength increases (when training).

I may be looking into this in far too much detail, but I believe all of this is possible from simply iniating this wellness plan.

And Chenovsky, I understand your frustration that this plan is TOO reliant on the Indian government. However the Congress and President are principally responsible for the economy. And businesses, believe it or not are related with the economy. How can you expect businesses to cope without government support? They need a kickstart.

On a final note..yes we are not a wealthy nation but we must look forward. India has the potential to become one, that's what matters. By pushing plans such as this into action you are making steps in right direction, the direction of prosperity and wealth.

This is my 2 cents on the matter anyway. Forgive me if what I am saying is wrong, I am a n00b after all 🙂

No, you have great ideas, whoever told you you are a n00b is wrong and should shut up. I value your opinion, and so should everyone else. Look at elsewhere in the world where there are similar systems. The system buys the gifts on the market and distributes them to the citizens, ensuring that the citizens make more, then they earn more, which is more money to the government through taxes

Such as the eUK. They are prospering beyond our wildest dreams..

Think.

We could be in their position if we hold our chin up and bring out different policies. We cannot live in fear and anxiety. Certain risky decisions must be made provided they are likely to bringer greater benefit to the people of eIndia.

Historically, India's problem is not with a lack of employers, but a lack of workers. We have another posting recently that there's not enough food available. Food companies are not currently staffed to capacity. There's a number of possible reasons for this, and we can't blame any single factor, but a contributing factor would certainly be Indie's recent aggressive recruitment of workers for his gift company.

Our workers can find jobs. That's not the problem. The problem is that we don't have enough workers. I would be inclined to agree with Indie more if we have enough people to fill job positions at his company, but that's not the case.

Right now, we can shift our gift workers to food, a sector that really needs help (and is profitable enough to survive without subsidies!), and we can STILL buy our gifts cheaper by importing them from foreign countries, gifting our citizens to a higher wellness level than with domestically produced, expensive gifts. That looks like a win-win plan to me.

Recruiting aggressively? Anyway, there are a few food companies already, and we do have the workers to fill the positions. I already have 10 workers. And there are 2 gift companies in India now, you just want to shut them down?

And it wouldn't be subsidising. The whole idea of the gifts company was to supply the equivalent of the NHS, I have already slashed my prices, was it not enough?

I agree with Chenovsky. And about the thing that we could be like the eUK, well I'm sorry but that's rather bullshit. We are in a complete different position, you can't compare any eCountry with another if you ask me.

Again, there are probably other reasons, as well, but our food companies don't even have the 10 employees you have.

We have a food shortage along with a labor shortage in our food industry. We have a gifts surplus in a gifts industry that is overproducing. I think this is pretty clear.

And if you want the government to purchase your more expensive gifts instead of someone else's less expensive gifts, I would call that the poster child of what a subsidy looks like.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm not attacking you personally, and I'm sure you put a good deal of effort to make sure that your company is running as efficiently as possible. But in our economic situation, our gift industry is simply not as efficient as our food industry, and our gift industry cannot be as efficient as the globalized gift industry. I'm not sure there's anything you could've done about this. I'm sorry.

I thought the government would help support it's own people's industries rather than fatten the bank balance of another country. And when I was talking about setting up a gifts company, everyone on the forums was like great, yeah! and now this

IndieKid Relax... You cant create a company and expect to make profit straight away.. it takes a lot of time and money.

I guess what you are saying is right Chen. Food does increase wellness as well as gifts.

Furthermore Q4 and even Q3 food is becoming a commodity which is rather annoying. Still I am not going to say gift companies should be unheard of here, but you are right in the sense that Q4 or atleast Q3 food companies will fare better.

Oh and I am sorry Brood for making reference to eUK. I just hoped that we aspire to become as succesful as them, not become an identical copy of them. Some of their policies would fail completely here so I can understand why you would call my remark 'bullshit'. But like I said, I only said that we should we become like the eUK as in become succesful like them.

They have a great political system, and a great economy. Due to skilled workers. But the thing is, if they weren't buying gifts, fine. But they are buying them from abroad rather than from INDIAN companies

It's not about supporting domestic industries versus supporting foreign industries. It's about how to best support domestic industry, and to me, the best way to do so is to let domestic industry align itself with our most efficient industries and outsource any less efficient industries we have, especially during a labor shortage.

I wish I were wrong. I wish that we had enough people to fill every industry India has. I wish that we had enough money in the government bank to comfortably start and run all types of industries in India natively. But that's not where India is right now.

I'm not sure who gave you what kind of advice. I know I didn't advise either way, because I didn't know much about India's gift industry before doing some more research today, and it's much easier for me right now to figure out what happened in the past than for you, who can only guess at what might have happened in the future. But regardless of other people's opinions, you were the one who took the risk in starting this company.

Starting a business is risky. Making foreign policy decisions is risky. (e)Life is risky. Sorry. But there's always tomorrow, and who knows how things may change to our benefit?

I just guess I'll have to export then. If there is anywhere that doesn't already have it's own gift industry.

All the money the government has is tax money of the Indian ppl,we cant spent it to benefit or to manage losses of your companies..

We try to help the Indian companies as much as we can but we cannot keep spending too much money, many individuals like myself by from the Indian markets.

I am not a socialist i do not think that because you own a gift company in a place that does not need gifts that much that our government should step in have it so that you make money.

They do need gifts actually, the workforce do. I will still push for this, even though I have sold the company
