I'm Back [Patti11]
patti11
Hey Australia,
Your (hopefully) beloved ex Prime Minister is back from his 2 week vacation to the Northern Territory. Honestly, I have come back to the game I love so dearly with a lot less passion then I had previously so I am looking for a new project to reinvigorate my interest in eRepublik.
ADSP
The ADSP, the party I first joined, led and became Prime Minister of doesn't feel like the same old place it used to be to me. I have retired from the party (for now), to become a more critical voice of the executive government, something that was holding me back a bit since ADSP rocks at holding the PM seat.
Another thing which has led to my resignation from the ADSP is the fact of the TBP members in AV's cabinet and TBP's support of the ADSP. The second biggest party supporting the biggest party is laying the ground work for a one party state. In which I would politically takeover this country if that ever happened. ADSP is built on democracy, but to say the least I am disappointed AV accepted the edorsement of TBP and put corny as his deputy. Yes scotywest was my deputy for the last half of my term (he was also TBP) but that was a time when good citizens were few and far between.
So for now, I still hold ADSP members in the highest regard and I am willing to offer my services to them but for now I bid you all farewell.
ASIO
My ASIO proposal, a spy agency for Australia to give us information and to send trusted citizens on espionage missions is being voted on now in Senate. It is going to get rejected, due to the Senate's bitching about giving one person too much power. I haven't been critical of the Senate as much but making a spy agency transparent is like making a cricket bat without a handle, utterly pointless.
With that, I have decided to make a spy group independent of the Australian government. Whether we share all our information to Australia for free or sell our services will be dependent on the next governments willingness to work with us. I hate to say it Senate, but you brought this on yourselves. Once a spy agency passes in a form which seems acceptable to me my ASIO will disband immediately. An acceptable form is one that has no Senate intervention. Work on it, call me. Is this blackmail? Yes maybe, lifes a bitch, I'm its pimp.
Other
Everything else I do in Australia including Optimus Australia with Ottogustavo and Stary City Casino will still run as per usual. These are my money makers and a man needs income to survive.
Hopefully I will make a return to the executive government next month (not July but August). I may make another bid for the PM seat, but that is still in the early stages and a lot will change in a month.
For those interested in joining ASIO look out for articles by subing to this paper (or a new ASIO org paper) and keeping updated on the Australian forums (or my own forums 😉
).
For the CP election I will be voting for Xavier Griffith, AV's time will come, but his time isn't now.
Thanks for reading, its good to be back.

Welcome Back
Welcome back patti.
Welcome back Patti
I'm glad someone finally said it about ASIO. I've been following it and Patti11. I agree
Nice to see you back, and nice to see you determined with ASIO. Bloody senate 😛
welcome back Bilbarus, err I mean Patti. Agree with ya on most of the said things.
They only thing I can think to say is the exact same thing I said when the ASIO bill was put forward...... WOW.
Seriously, if you don't understand the dangers in giving undemocraticly elected positions power then can not be counterchecked then I'm not sure what hope there is.

Welcome back Patti, you've made a LOT of good points in this article.
Just to bring you up to scratch on everything in the TBP patti.
TBP in the end had 3 polls to see who we vote for, so we could make it fair on every member of TBP, so we putforth all candidates. Now the first vote was just a discussion, so Corny decided to to make a offical vote at this stage it was Calibur (ANP) and Aussie Vegeta (ADSP) this vote ended with AV winning. Then XG came into the chase all of a sudden, so to make it fair once again we added him and again Aussie Vegeta won pretty easily.
Now this term corny and i couldn't decide our selfs because corny was going to be given dPM anyway, so we gave the choice to our fellow party members. So they came up with the decision not us.
Look i know were you are coming from Patti but think about us think about our party and we want to give our party a fair chance to vote for who they like.
In my opinion Aussie Vegeta was the right choice for TBP to chose, he is a great guy and very hard working, and will do eAustralia proud.
"My ASIO proposal, a spy agency for Australia to give us information and to send trusted citizens on espionage missions is being voted on now in Senate."
Might I ask how our former Prime Minister could have come by this information?
@AA: I agree with you but obviously the spy chairman position would not go to any tom dick or harry. As for accountability, the PM would sure as hell watch the chairman as if anything goes wrong its his blood that would spill.
@scoty: the point I am making is that it isn't right for the second biggest party to support the biggest. It creates a one party system. Imagine if the liberals alligned with labour in RL. It just wouldn't happen. I also don't support across the floor supporting (right supporting left)when ADSP and TBP have very different policies. What TBP should have done if they had no candidates is either support a fellow right wing candidate, or if they didn't think one was suitable, support noone and let their members choose who they vote for. I know people will argue they don't have to follow the party, but everyone knows 2 clickers do.
@br0a😛 lulwut?
@MS: It was my proposal as dMoFA and I merely just asked a senator how the discussion went and how the vote went. That just shows how easy it is to infiltrate our country, heck you only need 3 votes to get into Senate, and why it is so important for us to find these posers and send our own for information.
@everyone: thanks 😉
@Patti. As much as Calibur has tried to reform I will need to use his unique case in this argument to show that as much as someone has a good reputation they can do serious damage if there is no countercheck. If your bill which you have leaked to the public (a matter all to itself which we will investigate) had some safe measures to ensure some form of countercheck other then the PM then it ran a better chance but as it was presented, it was far from acceptable.
@AA: Calibur in his heyday was not at the level of trust for the whole nation, (I know I didn't trust him) just the right wing faction and possibly others close to him. Someone like zaney, cottus or DA would be perfect for the role, who have time and time again proved themselves for this nation.
As for the leakage I am truly sorry and did not know it was being discussed on the senate. I do have sources in the senate but unfortunately I am not willing at this stage to reveal that source. However, I will look in the future to make sure the information I write about is more 'newspaper safe' in the future. Although imho, I don't think I revealed too much, just the creation of the spy agency (which nearly all nations have) and not its structure or how it works.
@Patti, dont get me wrong I'm not against a spy agency for the protection of eAus, but the way it was presented leaves no counter balance and is therefore in my opinion "dangerous" as we create laws not just for "now" but for the future and people like Zaney,DA etc might not be the ones who end up getting the job down the track.
In relation to the leak, you are aware of the Governments Secret Act and you knew full well that it was being voted on as you wrote that in your article, I would ask that who ever gave you the information come forward in the sensative issues area so it can be discussed with out a full investigation needed into the breach.
"'br0a😛 lulwut'"
lol just a reference to bilbarus when he made his long list of previous jobs everytime he made a post 😛
@AA: The chairman is appointed by the PM. He would be a fool to not put a trustworthy cit in. In fact I would consider it an impeachable offense for putting someone who is incompetent in.
I am aware of the government secrets act AA, I helped write it. However, I am not a senator, nor a cabinet minister (I resigned my dMoFA when I left for NT)so as such I am not bound by it. As a citizen I have a right to discuss the senate and the executive governments performance. I knew it was being voted on I asked people about it as I WROTE THE NOTES on ASIO, and I think that gives me a right to know the progress of it.
@Br0a😛 lol i see now. I just wanted to let new citizens know who I am 😉
@Patti, " I think that gives me a right to know the progress of it", there is the problem, according to legislatoin, you don't have that right and further more the people/person you gave you the information have broken the law by giving you that information.
As you have given up your position there is nothing we can do this term, but the others involved should still remedy the sitution by being honest members of parliment and come forward and allow the senate to deliberate on teh consequences.
Alex Australis: There's honouring procedure, and then there's being a wank for no good reason.
I personally find you to contribute nothing but restrictions on individuals who actually put effort in to this game.
If you think that people working together for the good of the country whether left or right is a bad thing then I pity you patti11. It will be a sad day when Australia has a PM so blind he picks only from his party and not the best man or woman for the job.
Patti CP elections are about voting for the man not the party, if he is a good leader, he is a good leader. If for instance Ranger went for CP and a total noob from TBP went for the spot I would probably cross party lines if I thought Ranger would do a better job.
Your not voting for a party in CP elections so don't get your knickers in a twist, notice how we haven't been voting in ADSP congressman 😉
Cheeseball your missing the point
The point is THE PARTY shouldn't be endorsing another candidate
the individual is the one with the choice to vote
ASIO FTW!
Oh and welcome back mate 🙂
Good to see you back buddy 😃
'The point is THE PARTY shouldn't be endorsing another candidate'
If the party as a whole deems that he is the preferred president then there is nothing wrong with that. You read too much into things Patti11. TBP and ADSP aren't merging or doing each other favours to the exclusion of all others, we just supported who we think would do best in this situation.
I think the PM should just ignore senate and create ASIO whether they like it or not. The Senate don't decide whether there should be a MoD or not do they? They're just there.
