eIndian Platoon

As part of my recent policy remarks on the eIndian forums, I touched on changes that could be introduced to make the eIndian armed forces more effective.
This is not a criticism of the current army officials, it is based on the known difficulties in organising and mobilising a joint armed forces effort.
The idea is simple and cost effective for the government.
Rather than supporting a bulky armed forces, I would like to see our armed forces consist of a many small platoons.
Each platoon, no larger than 5 citizens, would organise weapons and transport themselves (or via donations from companies/individuals) and would be led by a single platoon leader who would report to the Minister of Defence / President.
Platoons would only receive government funded weapons when fighting in a genuine conflict.
The idea is that 10 groups consisting of 5 citizens each will be able to communicate and function more effectively than 1 group of 50 citizens.
I would like to trial this idea to see if it is worthwhile. Any eIndian citizens who satisfies the following criteria:
* Started the game less than 15 days ago
* Currently employed in either Tamil Nadu or Orissa
* Not part of the current eIndian armed forces
* Would like the opportunity to travel / fight overseas
and would like to join my experimental platoon, please send me a message or a comment below.
The first 5 individuals who show interest will be selected. Should any of these 5 citizens go AWOL (> 3 days without activity), I will ask for replacements.
I anticipate that this experiment will run for 10 days.

I'll join up
I also suggest this method, I had suggested it before but it was turned down on the basis that our army is tooo small for platoon's
Count me in .... Don't know whether I am in curent Armed forces or not
Great Jelly, consider yourself drafted - i'll send you instructions, weapons, tickets and gifts as soon as we have 3 others.
Dinky - you are well over 15 days old, perhaps you could consider starting your own platoon though
Nice idea, lets see how it pans out...
So should I ask the government to give a fund to my platoon ?
count me in but i have been playing the game for over 2 months now...
i also want to join in.
great idea dude. i will be running for congree and i am already a part of IAF , so i cant be in. 🙁
@Dinky - no government funding unless you are involved in a genuine war
@mayank & Sudandu - if i can't find any others, then i'll take you both - but this is really meant to help new players.
A good idea, come on new guys sign up. This is a good opportunity.
Thanks, can't wait to see how this goes but I really wish the wargame hadnt ended, I need to up my wellness
Idea is good...but i just want to ask why not doing it with official Indian army...Whats the sense of creating another army...
Platoon's are a nice idea. But you want to manage it by letting the platoon's work for their own weapons for things like training wars? Don't thank that'll work out fine as the citizens you are working with now don't earn very much and have to get their wellness up too!
I think It will work, I bought one of my own weapons and was supplied another, this is just a test run I assume the real thing will be done with less monetary support
gud plan mate this will have a dual effect of india gaining its regions and letting to a higher level nd helth and as well better armed force for tomorrow

@shail
* i am not part of the official Indian army and do not wish to take resources away from it
* it is not another army, i am training up 4 citizens so that when the time comes to really fight, they know what they are doing and can do more than 10 damage
* by limiting the platoon number to 5, communication is easier. The eIndian Army cannot claim to know what each of its members did today....I know exactly where each member of my platoon fought today and how many weapons they require
I would like to see transformation of the Indian army to platoons, each platoon leader will have to give a report to the MOD weekly of the whereabouts of the soldiers and weapons/wellness. MOD can give orders platoon vice. Also we could make it into Territorial army (defensive army, will take part only in training wars, this is for people who cant or dont want to move), Indian Infantry (the guys who can move) and the National Security Guards (NSG) the tanks of India.
Each section of the army excluding the NSG shall comprise of platoons. So if there are 40 soldiers in Territorial army there will be 8 platoons of 5 men. Same with the Indian Infantry. The NSG shall be 5 of India's best (it can be different)
