Shoot Dagari!

Before I start what I believe to be a pretty long article, allow me to clear something up:
This is article is not about BLF of FA.It is my personal opinion on things that have happened recently both in our media and on the forum.I can make no claims to being objective, due to the fact that some things said and done today have impressed me,and not in a good way.
Case no. 1
Earlier today,I noticed that Ryan Dagari was charged with treason. The reason,as everyone knows by now is treason.Against who you might ask.And a righteous question it is,there are a limited amount of people who Ryan could betray directly, just one actually:Erdwurm.Whose presidency Mr. Dagari had apparently tried to overthrow.
You may ask "How?".And you would be asking quite a reasonable question too.The answer is as simple as the question really: By reporting the elected president to the admins for having more than one account.
So,according to the accusations, Ryan Dagari was guilty of conspiring to overthrow the elected president of eSouth Africa, by reporting him to the admins for having multiple accounts.
Now,this looks good on paper but don't get ahead of me people, because this accusation has more holes in it than Swiss Cheese.
First of all, reporting a player that you suspect of having multis,is not only a right that any player has,but also a duty. And Ryan Dagari happened to suspect Mr. Erdwurm; unfortunately for poor Ryan,Erdwurm is president and according to our very own constitution the president is much similar to the state, meaning that if you try to pull any rabbits out of your hat you'll be in trouble.Serious trouble.
Now I'm not arguing that overthrowing the president is a punishable offense. But reporting a player/the president for multies is not an attempt to overthrow the presidency,it's an attempt to stop cheating.
What is this all about?
There are some things that are not quite right about this whole situations, and a number of problems emerged since this ugly business has started.
Don't get me wrong though,Dagari is no saint; his report may have some personal taint on it,no doubt about that;but I'm sure that this is not an attempt to undermine the presidency,a more likely scenario is that Ryan holds some kind of grudge against Erdwurm/Taylor,so he kept a close eye on them.At the first suspicion of rule-breaking Ryan Dagari went and reported multi-accounts.
This is,at best, a personal conflict between the two/three mentioned. Not a reason for a trial.
One must ask himself, however, what the hell is happening here? And one may ask himself why Erdwurm and Taylor were so hellbent on going through with the accusation, despite serious opposition from a number of people?
This really seems like an attempt, from Erdwurm to strengthen his position as president. It may be a subtle way of warning people that opposing the president is quite dangerous and if this is the case, then people like this might want to choose better means of accomplishing this goal.
Questions that need to be asked.Again...
The first question is for Taylor,it has not been asked before, but I am sure it passed through a few minds.
1.How was sending Keanu Stryker as ambassador to eIran a good idea?
2.Why are Erdwurm and Taylor trying to limit Ryan Dagari's acces to some sections of the forum?
3.Why did Erdwurm and Taylor elegantly ignore a large number of complaints regarding the legality of the trial?
4.Should any of us be worried regarding certain authoritarian decisions of Erdwurm and Taylor?
There are other issues that needed to be brought up here, but honestly,it was sickening enough to write this much.
Comments
1.How was sending Keanu Stryker as ambassador to eIran a good idea?
How was it not a good idea?
2.Why are Erdwurm and Taylor trying to limit Ryan Dagari's acces to some sections of the forum?
Because he overstepped the bounds.
3.Why did Erdwurm and Taylor elegantly ignore a large number of complaints regarding the legality of the trial?
A large number of complaints from BLF.
4.Should any of us be worried regarding certain authoritarian decisions of Erdwurm and Taylor?
Authoritarian decisions as interpreted by BLF.
*EPIC ROLLEYES*
1.Well,yeah you're right,he proved some great social skills on the forum and in-game.He is a very friendly lad.And has never written more than two paragraphs in an article/reply.He's mature and he never ran away when things got rough. How did I not see all these qualities in him?Oh,right...HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY OF THEM
2.What bounds?(I'm sure you didn't see this question coming)
3 and 4.Even though my words seem to be falling on deaf years I will repeat the fact that my articles and comments on the forum are my opinions.I do not claim to be a spokesperson for my party.
If you are going to offer answers that don't really say anything, you're better off not wasting my,and your, time.
When all else falls, blame BLF. Here's something else you dont know about BLF also. Ryan is not and has not had access on the BLF forum for quite a few months.
Taylor, how has this gone from a issue that you have with Ryan, to now being an issue with BLF. Is it the fact that you dont like it when someone trys and point out holes in you accusations?
Funny thing actually, there are alot of BLF members who dislike Ryan Dagari. However, some these same people have stood on his "side" pretty due to the conviction that he was being wronged in this case, and we like to stand up for what is right here in the BLF, regardless of what we think of the victim.
"3.Why did Erdwurm and Taylor elegantly ignore a large number of complaints regarding the legality of the trial?
A large number of complaints from BLF."
So, if a BLF member objects it is automatically disregarded because he is BLF? Does this mean only FA members have rights?
"So, if a BLF member objects it is automatically disregarded because he is BLF? Does this mean only FA members have rights?"
No, but it does mean that their reason for objecting may well have been based on blind support for Dagari, rather than a general objection to the action taken.
Very good answe Ralph Francis Mason!
'Does this mean only FA members have rights?'
Dont ask silly questions you know are rubbish.
@Ralph Francis Mason: How did I blindly support Dagari?
I stated myself, that the man has his flaws. Also stated on the forum that I don't like Dagari that much.I defended him because I beleieved, and still do,that the President and our former Minister of Foreign Affairs had no grounds to charge him with treason.
Ziroialnc, I wasn't accusing you of blindly supporting Dagari. I was merely responding to the comment made by U - 235, by noting that many of the objections of BLF members, reffered to by the SA MoFA, may have been due to blind support.
Dis hy boet, wys vir hulle! 😉
I cannot force you to speak a common language in the media.
I can however point out that it can be considered somewhat rude to speak an unfamiliar(to some) language in public discussions.
Its an official eSA language I think
I didn't argue that it wasn't.
I was politely asking him to either translate what he said so that us immigrants can understand too.English is an official language too,you know.
In Rome you do like the romans.. translated that means dont complain if somebody uses an official SA language in ESA.
The comment that Boere Generaal made was of a personal nature to Ralp Francis Mason and had no direct bearing on the topic.
I am sure that if Boere Generaal wanted to make a point in rspect of the topic then a post would have been made in english.
Well,this is not Rome,is it?
Then I will kindly ask you to keep private comments for private discussions. This is not a private space is it?
Nope its not Rome, but i am sure St Ambrose who first uttered this proverb in about 300AD would be shocked to know that you dont understand the meaning thereof.
Live and let live (another proverb)
Hi almal wat Afrikaans praat ek kan ook 🙂
hi lido, hard gwerk vandag ne!
Well, hopefully St. Ambrose will take my statement with a grain of salt,as it was intended to be taken.
How about the Code of Proper Manners?
Anyways, this conversation is getting rather pointless,so as you say, live and let live.Do your thing...
hehe hallo daar Lido 🙂
Jy moet comment up die artikels, altyd goed om te weet ons het die 'support' van ons mede lands genoote 😉
hehe, goed gaan mense 🙂
ONS SAL OORWIN!
i am not a party member of BLF, though it's probably where i would lean.
however, that being said, i do not blindly support mr. dagari. to presume someone in the BLF party does so would be horribly dichotomous on your part. you see the world as black or white if this were the case. and i would argue though it's one way to see things, it's probably not the best.
here' why i disagree with the "trial."
a player suspects someone of multi playing. they are free to "accuse" even if it's an ambassador, congressman, or president. the label doesn't mean the player has stronger "rights." dissent is not treason, and to suggest it is means you fear your public. if you fear your public you are probably doing something that offends them in the first place.
to presume we have our opinions based on "blind support" is ludicrous. for shame accusers! and again, to think you call your party "free" africa when you seek to punish dissent through "treason." for shame!
'dissent is not treason'
But when one uses the states' resources for personal believe...that's when its taking it on a whole new level.
Zironia: Macon and Me-262 has time and again shown that they're not interested in national unity. There's little point in trying to convince them otherwise. They're within their rights to speak afrikaans here. But comments not related to the article is still spam, regardless of language.
@ Rico
Excuse me dear sir, at various times in many cases, 'spam' has occured on articles in the english language.
Are you saying that one can only 'spam' in the english language and NOT in Afrikaans? That is very disrespectful to the Afrikaans community, dear sir.
@ Rico - you are wrong in saying that i am against national unity. I think our perceptions of what is neccesssary for a successful govt are just too different. I value your opinion because you come accross like a smart guy, that does not mean however that i agree with you or for that matter with everything that Erdwurm does. In my opinion national unity is not a pre-requisite for an effective govt. In many ways national unity hampers effective govt as i feel any country needs a strong and vocal opposition.
To me national unity means agreeing on the important things eg getting our provinces back but not agreement on everything eg as to how we are going to do certain things.
haai gits tot ek kan. 😉
@ Boere: Here is what Rico said...
" But comments not related to the article is still spam, regardless of language."
meaning that regardless if it's english or afrikaans or whatever language it is it's spam...you gotta learn to read the whole statement...
Not to mention it's a bit rude.
No not the fact that you speak an official language in public, the fact that you speak it someplace public without translating for other people involved in the conversation.
Some people ignorant in this pleasant sounding language might think you are cursing at them.
@boere
i've read what dagari has to say about it. it seems to me that a certain "mr. taylor" made a mountain out of a mole hill. why are we not persecuting him?
oh, right. because taylor is now an italian theocrat. he seems like the type of player who gets his kicks annoying everyone. he's done a fantastic job and apparently washed his hands clean of it.
i do not think dagari was using "the state's resources for personal belief." i think he noticed something odd, looked into it, was startled, and posted what he thought he saw to the admins. he probably was going to wait until he got word back from them before mentioning or not mentioning things. he fault; telling taylor "resurrected" about the oddity. should that be punished? maybe, i'm beginning to think any interaction with taylor should be punished...
