What Can The Unity Party Do For You?

The Unity Party
Tomorrow is the big election day, and I hope you all will be voting for a candidate that best represents you. We urge all citizens of eUK to read the manifestos of the candidates, and think carefully before placing your vote. To be a good Congress person, one needs to be active, dedicated and hard working. Make sure your choice is based on these attributes, rather than party banner.
What can The Unity Party do for you?
It may seem odd that I just told you to make your decisions based on the individuals, rather than the party orientation, and then move on to pimp my own party; but please bare with me.
The Unity Party has made special effort to ensure that our Congress candidates will be active civil servants, who will be involved in the workings of eUK government on a daily basis; in short, candidates worth voting for.
How? You may ask.
1. As many unrecognised members as possible have been removed from the candidate list before the elections have even started! This means candidates that are standing will have the ability to do the job, rather than making up the numbers.
2. All TUP candidates MUST provide a manifesto. We encourage you NOT to vote for any candidate that has not made this effort. Someone who has taken the time to sell themselves are more deserving of the role of Congressman, regardless of party membership.
3. TUP have recently employed a Party Whip. It is the job of the Whip to ensure all elected Congress people do the job they have been elected to do. This will involve rewarding good Congressmen, and condemning those that let the party down. Our Congressmen WILL be active and competent. That is our guarantee.
The Unity Party want to do a service to you. We do not want to let you down.

Another fantastic article from The Unity Post. 🙂.
says a member of tup lol, although the idea of a whip is a good one.
Great article, and I agree with it.
PS: rolfus_mercartor's profile link doesn't work
Yeh, I can't seem to get rid of the 10. It is annoying me beyond words.
Vote TUP!
Wow
All ur proposed congressmen are awesome...
GL!
Wouldn't a PP perform the function of a whip anyway? 😒
To an extent. The Whip is part of the role of the Media Exec. He publishes the names of those not doing their jobs, and publicly condemns them, whilst the PP has the power to take more serious action. The Whip will also publish TUP activity stats from HoC, so the public can see how their TUP rep is performing.
Great article HazzN
"publicly condemns them" now that's something I'm seriously against, tup say they're against flaming and such things and even proposed a card system and now they're talking about public condemnation? and two of your most senior members have unnecessarily been flaming recently it hasn't gone unnoticed.
No offence rastari, but the only one being vocal about TUP recently is you!
We want a fair eUK, and if civil liberties must be taken from some (non forum affiliated members) to ensure it's fairer for the average citizen, then that will be done.
For a socialist, you don't see the wider picture.
My first election. Vote one TUP!
Good luck TUP, from the MDU 🙂

your post doesn't make sence and neither does tup's behaviour recently,on the one hand you say no flaming people and be welcoming and on the other you are flaming people and saying that they have to behave in certain ways other wise you will publicly reprimand people, it's the hipocracy that I'm pointing out.
rastari, public condemnation or unendorced candidates is not flaming. I'd have hoped that was kinda obvious ...
The flaming your refering to was also a valid point. Just because someone says something you or others dont like doesnt mean its flaming. It had a point and raised an issue with a flawed arguement. Pretty much what political discussion is supposed to do no?
"and two of your most senior members have unnecessarily been flaming recently it hasn't gone unnoticed."
That's a little cryptic.
I believe Squiddys outburst was designed to prove a point (ie. If you allow complete freedom of speech he can flame as he likes.)
I can't say I've seen anything else of late. Disagreement in terms of debate sure, but no actual insulting, name calling or party bashing.
right i wasn't calling this flaming in answer to jizm and there has been flaming else where by tup members, I can guarantee that hazzN. and public condemnation would be similar to flaming right?
Not really. It is more of a performance evaluation, allowing the public to see who is doing a good job. The party shall not endorse candidates who are constantly inactive. We want to encourage citizens to vote for good Congressmen rather than voting simply on party banner.
"publicly condemns them" would you post an evaluation on one of your employees publicly? I'd hope not, and i hope that tup see right to have words with there congressmen behind closed doors.
i is so tempted to mention some ancient history right now...
Good to see that TUP has improved in this department

Great post from TUP, nice to see you announce who is not officially endorsed by the party.
The job of a Congressman is to serve the public. If he isn't doing his job, then the public deserve to know about it. They should know that the person that they might well vote for next election is not suitable. This is a step to prevent sheep voting, and encourage motivation within our party.
Argh..1!?!11 Damnit, my huge comment didn't go up when I clicked post a comment. CURSE YOU BUGMINISTRATORS!
Ok, so a summary of what I posted.
"I believe Squiddys outburst was designed to prove a point (ie. If you allow complete freedom of speech he can flame as he likes.)" Correct. Shadow didn't get it either Rastari so don't feel too bad! 😉
I was also meant to apologise to you via PM the next day to show it was nothing personal and I just wanted to prove a point. I kinda forgot though, so I'll do it publicly here. I apologise for my comment to you in the Public Discussion thread, Rastari.
I respect you Rastari, but it seems to me that you don't quite understand anything about what we mean by public condemnation, (and why should you? You've not been told about it as you're not a member of TUP), and have now jumped to your own conclusions and proceeded to flame us based on your incorrect assumptions.
Public Condemnation is reserved for those that don't follow the rules. If a congressmen doesn't post a manifesto, he might be publicly condemned, because it's a rule that all congressmen must post a manifesto in TUP.
If a congress candidate isn't part of the Council of Unity, (The entity I started that gets things done within TUP, such as wiki editing, PM'ing new members, writing party articles, (such as this one, etc), then they aren't allowed to be a congress candidate. In TUP, you must earn your 5g and special title. I have to say it's working very well at the moment.
And as for your inaccurate comparison to an employee, congressmen are public servants. They serve the public, and work on their behalf, that means that they are directly responsible to their constituency and if they aren't doing their job properly that means that it is hushed up. We don't believe in trying to hide our mistakes in TUP for the sole purpose of saving face, but to acknowledge them and rectify any wrong decisions.
Wtf is the point of clipping new comments..? I see why they made it so the new ones are at the top now. Why were people so against it..?
Yeh... I posted the same comment 5 times before I realised it was on another page.
WE WANT WAR
yeah the page things stupid, still don't like the idea of public condemnation as a last resort possibly, depends on how you handle it I'll wait and see.
