3 Border Guards - 3 Musketeers - 3 Heroes

In the above picture we can see 3 statues which is erected near a bridge in Jolfa,north of Iran. These are the statues of 3 Iranian border guards who fought against Soviet union army which attacked to Iran after a treatment Allies countries signed in WWII. The 3 Iranian border guards fought against Soviet union army without any aid.



On August 25th, 1941 the army 47th of USSR attacks Iran and at 4 a.m they arrived a bridge in Jolfa (a border city in north of Iran).
Iranian corporal Malekmohammadi was the chief of guards of that bridge and finds out the USSR army is going to pass over the bridge and occupies Iran.
He sends a message to His commanders and gets this answer from Iranian commanders: "Evacuate the garrison and let USSR army get in Iran"
Corporal Malekmohammadi Says to the soldiers I won't leave here. You can go but I'll stay here and fight against trespassers.
3 Iranian soldiers stays with him.
When the first Armoured personnel carrier of USSR gets on the bridge the 4 Iranian soldiers shot him and kill him and a hard fight begins.
for 48 hours 4 Iranian soldiers keep USSR army on the other side of the bridge and after 48 hours Corporal Malekmohammadi, soldier Shahbazi and soldier Hashemi get killed under the USSR artillery fire.
The 4th soldier gets back to let commander know about them.
It is hard to believe but 4 Iranian soldiers stops a full armored army.

After their death Iran gets occupied by Allies troops in WWII.

When Major General Novikove the commander of USSR army 47th passes over the bridge, finds out that he has fought against 3 soldiers not an army. He was very impressed and put one of his medals to corporal Malekmohammadi shirt and buries 3 Iranian heroes with military costumes and ceremonies.
