2 Bans, 1 War and Chaos in the Government

Day 831, 08:12 Published in Philippines USA by Judean Princess
Hi there,

Just thought I’d do a quick update article on a few major occurrences in the last few days. Things seem to be hotting up in the sleepy Philippines, and it’s a really exciting country to be in at the minute. We’ve had a bunch of problems, yes. But we’re also getting a lot of first hand excitement, which after all is what this game should be about!

War with Indonesia

Most of you will have noticed that our war with Indonesia has been activated. Personally I think this is stupid- as I said in my last article on the subject Indonesia can’t expect to conquer us with our MPPs, so using the war for anything other than tactical reasons is pointless for them. The Indonesian MoFA claims he doesn’t know why the battle was opened. In my opinion there are only a few reasons to do so. Firstly to potentially drain damage from Poland by forcing them (as the Philippines’ MPP) to protect their ally. Secondly to try and entice Philippines or some other country to invade Indonesia and help them get another baby boom.

Either way we don’t have to worry. Poland can comfortably defeat Indonesia on their own, with almost four times as many fights and considerably more citizens Poland is a bigger power these days. War has its ups and downs- it is expensive and risky. However in this case we can treat the Indonesian attacks as training wars. They can’t batter down our MPPs so we might as well enjoy the battles and have some fun.

Banhammer time

The admins banned a lot of presidents, MoFs and prominent citizens over the last few days. This was because of an exploit in the Declaration of War procedure which replicated gold. As a result both our President and our Presidential candidate have been banned. Some people have said this banning is unjust. I don’t really know enough to comment and in any case the admins have the final say and the only safe way to protest is through proper channels, not articles in the press. However this has left the Philippines in a poor position. With only a couple days left to select candidate we need to quickly find and propose a replacement.

Where now from here?

The most important thing for the Philippines is to make sure we have a President. A poor president could really limit our capabilities, especially when we are at war. Finding someone with experience and ability should be our first goal.

Secondly we need to speak to both Indonesia and our allies in Sol about the recent war and get to the bottom of it. If we know their reasons, we will know better how to defend against them and how our allies can help us most effectively.

Finally we need to use the attack to our advantage to promote the ePhilippines both in eRepublik and out, to try and attract new players and develop the country to the next level.
