Something Missing
Faeyas
My fellow eJapanese, do you feel something missing? A gaping hole in your heart where something fun, light, happy, hopeful, should be?
That's right. Today is November 16th my fellow eJapanese, and we have been without a properly elected Empress for two (2) days now.
As a traditional holiday, Empress Day was to occur on the 13th and 14th of this month celebrating the newly elected Empress. As per tradition, no single empress is allowed to hold the throne for two months, and so far this has held true. But without the nominations, and the election, of a new Empress there stands no candidates for our Empress this month. Further we are now far past the opportunity to select, elect, and celebrate a new empress on the proper days.
This citizen would like to point out that Tradition has been considered an important aspect of eJapanese culture, and while many may contest this, I say that fun traditions like Empress Day bring us together as a community in a way that is not harmful to our spirit or communal ties.
The merriment that is brought by such events lights up the otherwise doom business only tone of our forums and our papers. It brings us joy and fun, even when times are hard, in ways that do not cost us a yen to enjoy.
Yet this important holiday was missed.
I for one, feel sadder for it.
I would like to suggest that since Empress Saber has finished her reign, and in the tradition of not duplicating empresses, that our runner up Chii take the throne as our temporary empress. It is sad that she would not be able to compete for the throne, but I feel it is far better than for us to go a month without a newly elected Empress.
I would also like to express my deepest hope that we are able to celebrate Empress Day without fail next month.
Thank you for your time
Faeyas

There is always next month! It is unfortunate there wasn't one this time around.
Do we have someone who is organise these events? Perhaps the government should have a position for this.
Yes, the government has a position for that.
Our position is that the organizer of the event felt that there was too much on their plate this month to pull it off successfully.
Isn't the author of this article the one that's supposed to organise cultural events?
No Nozomi. Ember is in charge of events. I am the SOS Brigade Chief. I know the two are really close and all, but the SOS brigade is not in charge of national holidays.
Further if our minister of events is too busy to pull off an actual event then shouldn't someone else be in the position?
Indeed, Ember though she might be able to do both but other things have demanded her attention. Thus, I am looking for a new Culture Secretary.
I'd rather Empress Sabre continue her reign until the next challenger! 🙂 Ten thousand years!
That would be wonderful. I have a better Idea. vote Nozomi for Empress, get a National Tentacle Rape day.
I am sorry for not getting an article out about the missing of Empress Day. I discussed it with the cabinet, and they agreed that:
1. I have my hands full, and would not have been able to devote enough time and attention to organizing the event.
2. The media was full of articles over the robbery of the NBJ, and this would have prevented a lot of community participation in the event, thus making it less than what Empress Day truly deserves
3. It is necessary to find someone else with a lot more time on their hands to become the new MoCE.
The position was offered to Fae, since she claimed power over all aspects of the planning of Empress Day last month, and she declined the offer. I feel a bit offended that she feels entitled to call us out on canceling the holiday for this month when she had informed us she had no desire to assist in its planning. It also feels a bit unfair, considering that she had repeatedly defended the perpetrator of the robbery, which was the deciding factor of the canceling of the holiday.
) If the government, rather the cabinet had informed us in advance I'm sure that there would have been no problems. But you didn't. You just let is pass like it was nothing. For a government toting transparency I'm surprised I had to mention the holiday missing for any of you to speak on it outside your hidden cabinet.
2) I turned the position down because I knew in advance I would be too busy to do an event outside of the SOS Brigade, Ember. Just like you should have turned the position down if you were going to be too busy.
3) This article is about Empress Day and not the robbery. Running the holiday costs no money. So the robbery should not have effected it at all. To think it would is silly.
Really? You do not think that the robbery had any effect at all on Empress Day? Considering how difficult it is to elicit community participation when there is nothing else going on, do you really expect to be able to garner enough to make Empress Day the large celebration that it deserves to be when the media is in an uproar over the robbery? To think so is silly.
The media has also been in an uproar over the crumbling of PEACE of late. This just adds to the reasons that Empress Day could not have had the attention it truly deserved this month.
Also, I never officially accepted the position. I informed the president that I did not think I would be able to handle it all on my own, since I am also Vice-President, as well as Party President of the ULJ. He told me that he would like for me to try, but he understood, and would seek a replacement if I became unable to manage it. Neither of us expected for such a major crisis to occur on the very first day of the administration, taking up a majority of our time and attention.
As far as your claim that you had to publish an article before we spoke of the cancellation outside of our so-called "hidden cabinet," I announced the cancellation of Empress Day in the IRC, and, as I said, I am sorry for being unable to get an article out about it.
just like Hashimoto, you have publicly called us out on something without first attempting to speak with us or ask around, just to make us look bad and accuse us of opacity. It is no secret that our friendship has deteriorated into a bitter and vicious rivalry since last Empress Day, but I would appreciate if you could keep the rivalry between us as just that -- between us. There is no need to bring the government at large into it.
Guys, what's done is done. The festival is suppose to be a fun event and to bring everyone in the community together. Let's concentrate how to make the next event a blast.
Well said roland.
<3 Empress Sabre.
Ember you have no idea.
Seriously none.
It seems as though Ember had 'an idea'. In fact, she had enough of one to make a clear, and relatively concise, 5 paragraph comment addressing and refuting your criticisms. I'm not the biggest fan of either of you, but it seems like you've got in back words.
Also I'd like to nominate Lady Gaga as empress to commemorate Bronai Keiko and Oraizan leaving
BTW DIS ^ IZ ME
What does that even mean? "You have no idea" wtf?
I'm going to have to go with purple drank. This article needs it.
the fact of the matter is Ember is under some delusion that this is all about her, that I'm somehow attacking her, and that this is personal.
It isn't.
I'm fond of Empress Day and I'm missing it. I asked in IRC if anyone knew and no one did, and there was no announcement about it so I wrote an article. I'm allowed to do these things.
It isn't my fault they didn't say "oh BTW the holiday is canceled" until now.
If anything the holiday would have given the community a sense of 'together-ness' after all of everything that has been going on. It's kind of sad to see such an awesome holiday missed, especially since it's history in eJapan. Don't miss it again! 🙁
Why the hell did Dokomo make Ember in charge of it when she's already the Vice President Y_Y... He should of given the job to someone else...
You should of given the job to me~! So I could make Tentacle Day and such~! 😛
