[UKRP] An Interview with SaraDroz

Day 577, 10:12 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by UKRP Headquarters
The men and women behind the oldest party in the eUK

Who are the faceless people running the UKRP, the oldest and largest party in the United Kingdom? Manifestos are published, promises made, achievements listed - yet very little we know about the great figures themselves. Continuing our hit series after a break, we bring you an interview of SaraDroz, the controversial former Prime Minister of the UK.

SaraDroz, a former Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of UK Armed Forces. Sara began her political career in the ranks of UKRP, contributing to the activity within the party and being an active congress member. She served in several ministries before she was elected as Prime Minister – most notably in Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After having a term filled with surprises, she left the UK to see the world.

Even though you are an intimate person, I doubt all know about your real life. Perhaps a word or two about yourself to the public would break the ice?

- I am 22, finished University, currently training to work for real life British government, half British, half Polish.
Main interests: History, Philosophy (and particle physics), sailing and politics in that order. I've been a gamer since my best friend got me a computer so I could play Wolfenstein Enemy Territory with her (was awful at that). I live mostly in Kent, England but currently work in London and am sick of the traffic on M2. I can't stand living in a city though; friends are good, strangers bad in my opinion, think I'm partly claustrophobic regarding people. I try to go to Poland on holiday once a year (normally family Christmas) and love Greece and the Balkans for history and archeology during summer.

Moving on to eRepublik, your term as PM began with the UK entering a full trade embargo with the rest of the world, then continued with the ATLANTIS collapsing. Obviously those two events would have happened regardless of who got elected, but looking at past, is there something you would have handled differently during your term?

- There is a difference between these two events and a third event that was forced on us. The difference is the Irish/USA training war we were never properly advised of. However our then MoFA (Goku) and I handled this quickly - with a lot of support from our Irish and American friends. Amendments to the Raleigh Treaty were quickly done and Goku and then Irish MoFA Eamon deserve a lot of credit in my opinion.

The Swedish/German affair in my opinion was the cause of the end of Atlantis. This we were forewarned of. We supported Germany's full Atlantis membership and supported the Polish plans to let Sweden through Germany. In short we did everything we could - along with others to try to avoid that, sadly to no avail.

The third issue that was forced on was the treachery of RRS. We were at war with Sweden when suddenly our funds were stolen for not supporting Germany and because we exposed his plan to PTO Ireland. eUK came within an inch of being invaded by Sweden and Romania. Well we recovered most of our funds in the end and eUK is financially secure.

Would I do anything differently? To be honest it was a time of reacting to events rather than planning them. Later though we did help liberate parts of Israel and started the moves in Greece which are now bearing fruit. We came through a time of dire emergency - when it seemed possible we would fall, and handed on a secure country financially and territorially.

This term you moved to Russia to help build their country. Now, as an outsider, how do you see the UK? Would it have been different if you were elected again?

- eRussia politically is in the stone age compared to eUK and it doesn't help that the two main parties are literally ready to go to war... Looking from the outside I think eUK is the opposite; it is over complicated. At some point a review and codification of all laws is needed with the emphasis on who decides what and making decision-making faster. Certainly if I had stood and been elected again this would have been a prime concern - as would the still needed military reforms.

What would you see as a point of improvement for the UK?

- A. Law Codification
B. Military supply companies and compulsory sign up. Recognising Camelot might be wise!
C. Long term planning staff. A think tank of Junior Ministers to think ahead of future plans (economic war, possible PTOs etc) and to suggest them to War Council.

End words?

- I advise all the next Presidential candidates to set out clearly their alliance preferences, I know the current Government favours Peace but welcome that they have clearly set out the alternatives. This decision belongs to all eUK. I myself forget not our allies. Much can change yet! Look up eUK!

There you go, the former Prime Minister of the UK. You think the interviews end here? Wrong! This series continues with interviews of our new and vitalised party members. Next you can expect an interview with Craig Rossiter, a prominent UKRP congress member.
