[Tao] The Myths

December 31, 1999. The END DAY.

On that day, approximately one thousand years ago, the Emperor Draygonia staged a coup. He seized power from Garland Ordene Chaos, the previous ruler, and defeated the "Originators" to bring order to the World.

Or at least, that is what they say... In truth, no one knows exactly when it was, or how many years have passed. History has repeated so many times since then, that all we have are the myths.

The same battle has been fought over and over again. There is no help for the world. And yet still, those who hope continue to allude to still more distant myths, telling of a golden age before the invention of R. Scott Bakker novels -- an age before human foolishness.

Such myths are deceptive, although not necessarily harmful. They make sense of human society at the expense of truth. That is why the eJapanese media is in decline. it is not because of a conspiracy. It is actually because some things are so embarrassing, it needs a serious person to get things back on track!

Well so I thought but, actually, we need term limits. The Imperial Diet is just too important a job to leave to people who are not me -- and I never know when to stop running for office! That is why this is not a Congress presentation.

I heard that this goldfish did not vote for Hitoshi-san last time he ran. I don't know that for sure, but considering the average life span of a goldfish, it seems likely. Besides, who would vote for a goldfish?

And then some things are just embarrassing, and need no explanation. Some things are just silly, and some other things are just plain wrong.

I don't always think I can tell the difference. But I'll still be around! Just, being a general busybody instead of a Congress busybody. And Luna Inverse is freaky, don't you think?

Cosplay or not, the world needs more waitresses...

...And fewer clowns. Good luck to next month's Imperial Diet! Will all the "end time" rumors ever end? Perhaps we'll find out by the end of next year. Stay tuned!
