[UPDATE 2- Day 840, 00:45] the hack was not done by our enemies or channers, but rather an inside job. More news will be out shortly. THE FORUMS ARE CLEAN TO ACCESS NOW

[UPDATE 1] the forums have been moved into maintenance mode, still do not attempt to access them and if you have change all your eRepublik related passwords

My fellow Australians,

THE eAUSTRALIAN WEBSITE and FORUMS HAVE BEEN HACKED (http://auserepublik.com and http://community.auserepublik.com)

If you have tried to log in change your password on eRepublik immediately

It is imperative you do not attempt to access the forums, you will be greeted with the following request:

I have confirmed with Xavier Griffith (the great man who runs our website and server out of his own time) that this is not set up by him and is possibly under a hack.

More information from the government will be release shortly, until then, do not access the forum and only trust information from these sources:

Its starting.. this is what the channers did to our 1st forum.. change passwords regurarly.. keep software updated.. get Spy-Bot and run regular scans..

As one of the Admins who just spent ~2.5 hrs getting this sorted out, I can say with authority that:
- It wasn't eAustralia's enemies abroad
- It wasn't Channers
