MILITARY MATTERS

You may have noticed by now that there is a bewildering array of battles taking place in and around Japan. The usual procedure, for those schooled in these matters, is to check the Ministry of Defense’s daily orders, but unfortunately, today there has been a bit of a mishap on account of a bug. President KITA Ikki and the MoD could not set the proper ‘battle of the day’ because the battle was not showing up on the main page, despite the fact that the battle was, in fact, taking place.

For now, orders are to help the Chinese push Indonesia out of India by fighting at Andhra Pradesh. The Indonesians were behind an atrocious PTO attempt of Japan some months ago and this is one of the ways we have found to spit back in their collective faces and take a bit of cold revenge. Of course, it’s a long shot from all the way over here in Japan, but have no fear, my fellow citizens: spit flies far in eRepublik.

ELECTIONS

Presidential elections are around the corner and unlike the past few months, where the ballot casting had been mostly a one man show, we now might have to consider forming a queue this time around. There are three serious contenders for February (dear God, at this rate we might actually have to think about who to vote for), each has posted articles in the media, which I will provide below, and there are also two discussion threads on the forum about the matter.

FOREIGN POLICY

No, sorry, our war with North Korea is not being fought to seize some of its many fine tourist attractions. Glorious Leader (well, kaycloud, but he’s just not as interesting) decided to set Japan as North Korea’s natural enemy so that their nation could take advantage of the national enemy bonus in strength training, as per the new game mechanics.

DOMESTIC AFFAIRS

New members of the Diet, please remember to report in and cast your vote for the new Minister of Security and Speaker of the House positions.

LAW AND ORDER

-Day 1164: An MPP with the USA was passed. Final vote was 25-3.
-Day 1161: An MPP with China was passed. Final vote was 18-2.
-Day 1158: An embargo against Indonesia passed. Final vote was 14-4.
