Antonio Salgado
One day, talking with s33vald he asked me what i thik of this "weird inflation" we have in eThai, and if i have a plan. Well, i´ve created my own goverment plan based on my own experiences, but i also asked some of my party members about their opinions, some of them suggested to created a prices table with fines for those who disrespect, but i think that this isnt the solution, and also very hard to aplly.
So i thought, besides punishing why not giving prizes to them?
So this is part of my plan, it is not 100% ready, i need some opinions( count on you), it is basically this:
In the first day of the program we will ask al businessman to reply some question: wages of all workers and what price you think is the best for your product. Then me and my staff, we will work in a prices table with minimum and maximum price, but no companies are going to be obligated to follow it, but everyday me and my staff we will be checking market prices for all products, in the end of the month the company with:
better wages for the workers and the prices near or in the table will in a prize, that will be discussed. This is just a project that i want to become real, but need to become more developed i think. And i am not going to judge wich is the best company, but the employee sec, the vice-president and Inteligency Agency Secretary.
I also plan to use this price table for goverment loan to companies, in the contract of the loan( that should not pass 5 gold) the company will also have to promisse to follow the prices table for at least one week.
That is all, sorry for my bad english and sorry if the text is little bit confused.

I think it is a good way to invest in the workers. You are basically subsidising with government funds a higher salary for the workers in "good" companies so that their profitability does not suffer. I think this is good, it encourages workers to work and it may be a better way to invest that continuous gifts for wellness (which I bet is also costly). This way you increase the productivity of the country too. Perhaps this reward should not be limited to just one "company of the month" but any company that meets some government targets on workers' pay.
I think niceboy has hit the nail on the head. This is nothing more or less than government underwriting of businesses. It is an explicit plan for the government to reward companies for sticking to arbitrary price scales rather than actually considering business costs and managing responsibly. At best it is a naive system that ignores the economy's interleaved nature; if a finished goods company's supplier raises THEIR prices, costs increase; likewise if a competitor drives up salaries in an attempt to steal labor (a very real concern in eThailand). At worst, a sly attempt to underwrite poorly managed companies while pretending not to do so.
Frankly, if you plan to underwrite companies for maintaining certain price levels, the way to do it is explicitly and generally, as niceboy alludes to. Sit down and work out the costs of raw materials, and the wages you want paid. Figure out the prices you want to see on the market. If the former costs preclude the latter prices, determine how much baht the government needs to provide in order to make up the difference.
If your government intends to implement a planned economy, please have the honesty to tell us this up front, and the responsibility to do it right, rather than sloppily pretending to work it out, and/or passing the work off on the company managers. The current vague incentive system you propose appears to reward poor management and rigid thinking in order to spare you the work of doing the planning necessary in order to have the planned economy you so plainly desire.
Looking over your proposed cabinet positions, I note that you're dispensing with one office Jack most certainly included in his: economic adviser. I find this omission both troubling and telling.
Guy Kilmore will be economical advising, as a chancellor.
And ealb, once more you are changing my words. The prices arent oging to be arbitrary, we are going to search workers opinion, businessman opinion an make a tabel, but with minimum and maximum prices SUGGESTED no company have to follow it, but the ones that follow and also fit other things will receive the prize of eTha icompany of the month.
That is just an idea that need to more work on it, if you need to help making constructive critics i would apreciate. It is better then this image you are trying to construct of me by distorting my words.
Constructive criticism? Look at paragraph 2.
Antonio, I'm not constructing the image you attempt to brush aside. You are. Your opening paragraph states that you'd like to enforce price controls, but the UI won't let you. THAT is why you're merely "suggesting". By all appearances, you very much want a planned economy. You're going to use incentives to try to achieve this. Now, you are correct that I am assuming that you'll set unreasonable and unsustainable pricing guidelines. Care to guess why I assume that? Because that's what you've advocated in the past, even in the face of company managers detailing why such prices as you asked were unreasonable.
thanks and sorry ealb,
i just want to finish with this weird thing happening in our country, like q3 food one day is 4, other 12, other 6.
In TNT we make table prices and all businessman have to follow it, i´ve try to reduce the table price of our q3 food but the majority vote to keep it and maybe up it to q4( but this is no election matter i think).
Like for me is ok if the prices continue the same, because majority of TNT companies sell prices at half price of the other guys, i dont want to make people reduce their prices, i just want to make prices more estable with this project.
Hope you understand it.
And i also dont want to brush this image aside, i already told, i know what i did and also save it in my wiki page so nobody will forget, but i want to put this as one and my only one bad action.
Rewarding compliant companies is the same as penalizing non-compliant companies. It's like asking two children to praise you and when one fails to do so he gets to watch the obedient child eat ice cream. The problem with your plan is not the obedience to law, it's the law itself. Government does not own the market and therefore has no right to dictate it's internal operation.
This is what was attempted to be implemented under Rockman. He was continually subsidizing TNT companies so they could "compete" ending in the Czech hospital scandal. This is a slightly less blatant way of doing that. Do not be deceived.
There is nothing wrong with the economy as it is. Prices are all reasonable, and workers can easily find a more than adequate wage. If it isn't broken, why interfere and try risking it.
callum, it is a democracy, if the majority agree that the prices are running ok, i think that the goverment dont have to interfere, but if the majority agree that we can try, not to control, but estimulate companies to fix their prices in a more reasonable level, this is a idea, as i said in my candidature article, this idea is not mature and i dont plan to apply it, but i can use it if it is necessary and if the majority likes it( after making some changes, maybe).
The problem is Antonio that it is only a democracy once a month. The rest of the time it's all up to the congress and the president. And if you get elected president, how can we trust you after we know your past?
cheeetar,
this is not the topic of the topic, but i will coment. TNT have 17 chair in the congress, one is mine, and all the elected members of the congress now are active members. So first of all, if i try to propose a strange law, it will not pass( of course i will not propose). I am registrated at the eThai forum were i want do just as Jack Roberts, and also report thbs spent with toilet paper in the presidencial house.
I ask you to trust in me, but if you dont wanna trust( at all), but like my ideas i ask you to fiscalize me and keep your mind open, dont need to vote me, but if i am elected i wish you( all citizens) to work with me and help me to prove that i can be trusted, or at least make a transparent goverment.
