Why wait until the last 30 minutes to fight?
Those first minutes also matter and all the influence counts for the remainder of the battle, right?
If you know with certainty you're going to fight in a certain battle you may as well do so at the beginning of the battle, as far as I'm aware.

because these last 30 mins give you 60 points each minut. Keep the bar above the 50% then adn you will win all battles.
