Day 861, 18:35 Published in Canada Canada by jbdivinus

If you don't care about congress stuff, skip to the bottom.

Well, these past few days I've been doing a pretty damn good job as a congress member. I am going to tell you about everything I've been doing. Transparency and stuff...its important right?

Votes

Impeachment: No

I logged on not really sure what I was going to vote on this issue. I saw that it was beyond the point of success, which confirmed my feelings that it was not what eCanada wanted. However, I don't think there was anything wrong with the impeachment proposal. If there was a forum vote first, I would have brought up several issues that have been observed throughout the month, as I am not satisfied with the government as much as I think I should be.

Minimum Wage: NO (lulz proposal by Rylde)

We should not increase the minimum wage. We should make it the minimum possible. The relative value of our currency and prices in CAD of products make it very unrpofitable for GMs to hire at more than minimum wage. Keeping it as low as possible is good for the economy and really does benefit everyone.

New Citizens Fee: NO (lulz proposal by Rylde)

Charity is the way to go. New citizens generally die from lack of interest and the currency they posses gets taken out of circulation. I am a huge supporter of helping new citizens who seek help or who are pmed. Giving them money for joining can be a huge waste, as we barely see 10% retention.

Alliance: YES

I like Croatia.

Weapons Tax NO

Weapons prices will go up with high import taxes. I don't like expensive guns. I like cheap guns. Do you?

Forum Debates & Position

If the Certificate of Acknowledgment of the Citizenship Procedure passes, I will ignore it. I do my own background check on all applicants I accept, and I don't believe in extra bureaucracy. The only real problem with citizenship has been UN accepting some questionable people sometimes. This is not the UN as a whole, and the UN leadership is working on fixing this internally. Congressmen are responsible, and as much as we hate to admit it, UN is too. They are learning. Give them a chance.

I disagree with the Executive order to use the government stockpile of gifts to fund CHS. I don't think the company should have been taken out of control of the ministry of industries. We should continue to support Canadian businesses that sell gifts at fair prices, rather than selling our own and forcing prices to be higher for the consumer, and making profit margins smaller for the GM.

I haven't decided yet whether or not I will support Goran Thrax for Chief Justice. He is a great candidate, no question about it, but I am uncomfortable with the PM choosing his dPM to head the justice system, especially given the context of this month's justice scandal, which caused the resignation of a cabinet minister. Jacobi has mentioned too that Goran Thrax tends to be unwilling to change his opinion in debates and that this may be a negative in consideration for Chief Justice. I have the utmost respect for Goran, and I think he would make a fine candidate. In context though, I need to decide what is right and wrong, and what is best for the people.

I have started a topic in congress to question who should have privileges to view and post in either open or closed door congress. This is to help with the current Coda issue. Those who aren't congress members need to realize that if they can post in congress forums, it is a PRIVILEGE. Those in congress need to realize that there is a reason certain people can post. This needs to be sorted out by congress. We can't waste our team screaming at each other, we need to get organized and create a clear system that works. I'm not going to tolerate senseless infighting.

I support the question for transparency between the CAF and congress. Congress approves funding for the CAF, and should be entitled to adequate information to determine how that funding is spent. I respect the identity of the CAF and security issues..as a high ranking EDEN official I think I would know. But there needs to be balance.

Thats it for a congress report.

Now, I have 910 subs..The next Canadian newspaper to pass is Joey Phillips. He has 30 more subs than I do. Sub now, or don't, I'm going to get media mogul this weekend anyways, in all likelihood.

Send me a message about anything going on in your e-life. What do you want to see the government do? What do you want to see me do? How do you fit into this society?

Enjoy life, have a good night.

That is all,
Jbdivinus
