Paul Proteus, recently elected President of Switzerland, in an IRC PM just blurted this out.
There we were, talking about forming a permanent Swiss National Army and trying to get their Parliament to start talking about an amendment to the Constitution to make the Military a full partner to the Executive and Legislative branches...
His statement was totally unexpected. I had just published an edition of my own newspaper, Custer's Stand, and have been working out a piece for the Swiss Armed Forces News, but just happened to mention the Cavalry Saber and the mysterious launch of an ICBM off the coast of California yesterday.
I ask that the United States exercise great restraint in considering an attack on Switzerland.
It is estimated that within weeks the National Army of Switzerland will number in excess of twenty, it may possibly be as many as thirty strong, and will stand firm against any foreign aggression on its sacred homeland soil.

Uh... just to clarify... the government said it was just a plane flying... the "trail" was just an optical illusion

RL defense expert, John Pike, gets high marks for his comments following today's contrail event. When noting that this object was too slow to be a missile, he quippe😛 "There's a reason they're called rockets" and something to the effect of "You'd think the Air Force would know how contrails are formed." If he were an erep author, I'd vote him. 🙂
