Vote 05637716 (IUP) for Congress

Day 548, 15:36 Published in Ireland Ireland by Digits 05637716

Hi, I’m 05637716. It’s a number you can trust. I am running in the Northeast for the IUP (under Code Petrescu). I have been on eRepublik everyday since I started, and am nearing my 3rd Hard Workers medal. In this time, I have silently watching and analysing all that has happened here in the eWorld, but now is the time for me to step up and let my voice be heard. I have great experience of working with online communities. I am an Chat and Forum admin on another MMOG which has over a million users, so if I am trusted there, maybe I can be trusted here.

I am not the type of person who will write waffle and unobtainable goals just to impress you. If I say something here, it is because I think it needs to be done, and I will elaborate on how we could try to do it. Here is where I stand on all of the main issues affecting eIrelan😛

1. Promote high wellness

In my eLife, our government has put forward two wellness programs: Gifting and the Fast Wellness Program. I believe that we need both of these programs working together for it to fully function. Emergency cases need to be gifted, whilst those above 40 but below 50 could benefit from the FWP. The need for citizens to purchase housing should be stressed, and as soon as people enter the game, they should be advised to save their gold to purchase a house.

2. Employment

Much debate has raged about the state companies and their relationship to the market. State companies are invaluable to us. In my opinion they should be providing jobs up to Skill Level 3 whereafter workers would enter the private market. Workers should be paid enough to purchase Q.2 food each day. State companies should not sell their goods on the open Irish market. Excess stock can be sold abroad, using a new embassy system (below)

However, I feel their role should not be limited to up skilling. In my opinion, the state should have a state company in:

1. Gifts
2. Weapons
3. Moving tickets
4. Houses

We need stockpiles in each of these for gifts (wellness programs), weapons (national security) and moving tickets (national security and wellness programs) and houses (because there aren’t ever any on the market).

3. Economic growth and entrepreneurship

If we are to go down the road of communism, then I might as well leave this section blank. However, if the Irish people choose the right option, then the government needs to prove to them that they HAVE made the right choice. We need to produce not just goods, but the right people to produce these goods. Senior figures in the game need to help out lesser levels and help them step onto the business ladder. I propose setting up a forum section dedicated to business, where advice can be given to businesses on how to ensure they receive maximum efficiency from their investment. A productive nation is a prosperous nation.

Also, the head of Banc Ceannais should select an Entrepreneur of the Month award, the winner of which would received a 2 Gold reward (donated) from the state. This would encourage entrepreneurs and efficiency.

4. Manage national treasury

eIreland needs to make sure that its finances are in order. Priority number one is ensure we have a healthy balance of imports and exports. Irish products should be prioritised at home over imports, whilst such companies need to step outside of Ireland to tap into the wider market. Revenues are to be raised through fair taxes, and the selling of excess state company stock abroad.

5. Equality and media

Each citizen is created equally, and thus has the right to a voice within our society. The government needs to promote positive discussion and debate through the media. Every citizen has a voice, and should use it. I suggest a 2 G reward (donated) to be selected by the incumbent president to be given to the person who is most active and has the highest quality posts in both articles and eIreland forums.

6. Infrastructure

In an ideal world, every region would have a Q5 Hospital and Defence System. I think we should first prioritise one (two max) region, and equip them with a Q4/5 hospital and a defence system above 1. Intelligent use of revenue could make this possible.

7. Military and foreign affairs

This is perhaps the toughest area to decide policy, especially in the current eClimate. Situations can change from day to day, and I think we need to adapt our military and foreign affairs policy to this.

Obviously, war games are the best option here, and should be done as often as possible, but we need to plan for the event that they will not always be there.

In the area of foreign diplomatic relations, I think we need to establish an organisation, Ireland Abroad, run by volunteer ambassadors, which is dedicated to fostering unilateral (individual) links with ALL nations in the game(with some exceptions). This will help establish trade links and also can help us sell excess state stock. This is because I fundamentally believe that eIreland is a neutral country. We are not bloodthirsty or imperialistic. It is not in our nature. We should only get militarily involved in defending our homeland and in defending the rights of others small nations from imperialism.

But in order to keep our skills and interest up, we need to fight abroad. This is primarily an individual thing, but the government could do much to support it. Those who have registered with the IDF could be provided with information (daily) on the best places to fight.

This is not just my manifesto, but yours as well. If you would like to discuss this manifesto, suggest better ideas or criticise it, please do. I encourage it. I’d listen to a good argument any day! I will adapt my manifesto to the people’s needs.

VOTE 05637716 for the NORTHEAST.
