The Times They Are A-Changin'

Day 679, 21:41 Published in Canada Canada by Jacobi
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

We're nearing the end...and as it dawns on me that I have less than a week in office, I turn my attention to tying the loose knots so as not to bog down my successor. One of the happier of those knots to tie happens to be the presentation of the Order of Canada. Though the August list was quite extensive, mostly due to the fact it had not been presented for a year, I have decided to limit new additions to the Order to 5 players at a time (not counting Associate Members, which is quite a different matter) and I hope future Presidents follow my lead.

Donc, the September 2009 additions to the Order of Canada are:

Officer

Marcchelala

for services in Congress, Cabinet and as director of the reformed Canadian Intelligence agency and excellent work in restructuring the CAF.

Member

Adasko

for being the driving force behind the Government's commitment to the rule of law, with the criminal code and the new constitution.

Plugson

for improving the quality of Canadian media and work in restructuring the CAF Reserves

Alias Vision

for dedication to Canadian values in Congress and contributions to Canadian culture in the media.

Vincent Valentine

for steady and active leadership that has sustained the Supreme Court and contributions to our culture in the Canadian media.

Associate Members

Eugene Harlot
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

Gaius Julius
President of the United States

Lilla_T
EDEN Military Commander

St00r
President of Sweden

For the rest of the article, I had taken great care to be my usual quasi-eloquent self. However, owing to a computer issue, that article has disappeared into the ether. I present the remainder of the article as a series of frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions:

If the Order of Canada is a civilian award, why isn't there a CAF equivalent?

Ah, but there will be! The Order of Military Merit will start as a 35 member order of CAF soldiers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in the service of Canada. Much like the Order of Canada, there will be three tiers: Officer, Knight, and Knight Commander. As Coda and the High Command finalize the list, expect the announcement to give the CAF's best the recognition they deserve!

I'm a new player, can you point me to some things that'll help me learn how to play erepublik?

Certainly! There's three good links I can recommend. First, check out the eCanada forums at: http://www.ecanada.ws/forums. They have a bunch of Canadian players you can get in touch with and great support if you have any questions. Also, the Minister of Education, Booleus, has a great guide for players just starting out. Finally check out this guide on fighting published by the Minister of Defense, Gaidal Cain.

When's the next war?

Stay tuned for an announcement tomorrow. I recognize the importance of keeping up with the Jones'...Canada cannot afford a fighting and rank gap while Hungary continues to get stronger by the day. We will have something for you....hopefully by Thursday.

Will you be in my cabinet?

As long it's not some asinine position like Minister of Emus, yes.

When will the next hospital be built in Canada?

Quebec Q5 hospital - Minister of Industries, Health Canada 1766/2000

Congress is looking at other possibilities as well.

How do I join the Canadian Rangers?

Go to the ecanada forums and apply at http://ecanada.ws/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2396. We are still looking for good recruits as we continue to build and expand the Canadian Armed Forces.

Final Thoughts

My final press conference as Prime Minister should take place on October Fourth, prefaced by my farewell address, a long and hearty read about fourth months of change, reform and progress. As always, I encourage you if you have questions, comments, or concerns to give me a shout either here or on IRC. I may not get to reply to every email I get, but I do try 🙂

Well, that's it for now. If I happen to remember some pressing issue I'll edit it in.
