Voted! u have my heart and my life ADSP 😉
So , by expressing your support of the recently threatened government boycotts in point IX. You saying that the ADSP supports this first step down the slippery slope of totalitarianism , despite the obvious sacrifices in civil rights ?
Bilbarus
You know, Bilbarus, you're really starting to get on my nerves.
slippery slope
well, the ADSP packed their hiking boots, they aint slipping nowhere!
@ Thats ok , Mouj , we all know where communists stand on civil rights .
Bilbarus
do you?
@Bil: Here are four things I'd like you to consider:
1. The ADSP never has AND NEVER WILL support "totalitarianism"
2. What is wrong with a mix of socialism (in the form of healthcare, government trainers, etc) and the "oh so sacred" free market?
3. The ADSP believes that it's the governments job to monitor the economy and when it gets unruly, it should step in and strengthen it out.
4. Please stop saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and......................... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
DA, get out of my bed!
@ Horizen loan - You really should look up the definition of ' totalitarian ' and you will understand why the word is used to describe these threatened government boycotts . I know it's an unpleasant word , but if the shoe fits...There must be a way of maintaining the economy that dosen't involve trampling all over peoples rights .
Bilbarus
Why? You were the one who invited me for a "sleep over" 😛
yes, its called boycotts, which dont trample over human rights in any way, or any type of right
Horizon never said anything in this discussion 😉
WOW , that was a quick delete . But anyway , I'll allow my response to his comment to stand . PS - I never heard of ' horizon loan ltd. until just now .
Bilbarus
what did he say?
Just for kicks I look up "totalitarian" (to refresh my memory):
–adjective
1. of or pertaining to a centralized government that does not tolerate parties of differing opinion and that exercises dictatorial control over many aspects of life.
2. exercising control over the freedom, will, or thought of others; authoritarian; autocratic.
I fail to see how the government issuing a warning/boycott is "exercising control over the freedom, will, or thought of others."
When all is said and done; it's the consumers that actually hold the power to do a boycott within the eRepublik system.
ye i noticed the delete 2 😛 now first and foremost bilba. u gotta understand that the boycott is to stop money hungry ppl from ripping off the customers and their rivals. i see no problem with that and i really h8 why ppl bring civil rights into some of this stuff, civil rights got rid of the death penalty -.- @ mouj, bilba is just explaining his opinion, and i quite enjoy it when he says things, there quite good and well thought out.
but he says that same thing EVERY time, that's Mouj's problem
Hmm. The country's current minimum wage is at $1...
This is not enough to afford a piece of food, so according to Core Value III, wouldn't you have to raise the minimum wage?
With the current problem with the trivia, it is very hard to get a skill level up, so a citizen will starve a decent amount before getting a better job.
Well, that wouldnt be the case if the government averaged the production themselves
@ Dasaron,
For some strange reason your comment reminded me of Pauline Hansons famous " If we need more money why doesn’t the government just print more money".
Raising the basic minimum wage would not bring down the prices of the inflated products, in fact it’s the fact that GM's have raised the prices of wages so high to attract workers that inflation has gotten out of hand.
The end result is that new citizens literally starve during their first week without some outside help which is why the current government is putting in a Medicare scheme to help out new citizens by giving them food or gifts (I’m not sure where the proposal is at right now) and trying to lower inflation so basic goods are not so un achievable in the low to mid level brackets.
also, with the citizen fee of 5AUD, they should be able to survive long enough to be skill 1 and have a high wage.
*higher wage
patti11
actually, the government isnt giving out free food, it would hurt the 'Private industry'
@Taytaz, thanks I cant remember where its at. Is is gifts they are looking at giving?
Bilbarus your a great guy and a pretty good friedn but its starting to annoy me you sayingthe same thing over and over like DA said 😛
Please stop saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and......................... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Voted. I would re-subscribe if possible!
'we all know where communists stand on civil rights .'
Nice mature little jibe there, I can see from that comment you obviously don't so don't try and start a pointless argument purely because you disagree with our philosophy.
