The Sleeping Giant Is Waking

In many regards the recent betrayal on the part of the eUK was like the Pearl Harbor of eRepublik. Our long time allies had been expressing the intention of joining Fortis up until mere days before they allowed the Hungarians to complete a region swap and position themselves for an attack on North America. While relations between the eUK and the eUS had never been the strongest of the bonds forged in Atlantis, they were still considered strong enough to ensure peace between the two nations. Then, seemingly out of nowhere to most Americans, the British backed out of the alliance, and instead sided with PEACE, attempting to destroy their one time allies Canada and the United States. Thus far their attempts have failed, and if recent developments are any indication, PEACE and the eUK may be in for more than they bargained for. Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said after the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” Now PEACE has done the same thing in the eWorld.

Over and over again the eUS has engaged in military offensives, and over and over again we have lost any land we gained or failed to make any gains in the first place. France, Portugal, Mexico, Russia (Specifically FER), they’ve all been the sites of offensive eUS military action. Any yet they all ended in defeat for the eUS eventually. Whether we made progress into our enemy’s land and then gave it back when the counterattacked or failed to gain a foothold at all, the result has always been the same. We failed to gain new territories. However the most recent attempt to expand the eUS borders in FER was a narrow loss in a battle that had been 14 against 1. Despite being dramatically outnumbered the eUS nearly won. When Russia attacked Alaska they evened the teams a little. You see, when Russia attacked they activated our MPPs, they called our cavalry in for us, they got us some help, and they gave us more power than they ever would have wanted us to have. When Russia attacked Alaska the woke the sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve.

So I know things seem bleak right now America. I know it seems like our enemies are running us over both in our country and in Canada. That will change, I promise you, and when America gets her land back our enemies will have to deal with a powerful new force. We will unleash our long stored power on them at will, and the battles they barely won with all their MPPs against the eUS alone will be landslides of American attack points raining down on them. So don’t despair my fellow Americans, because this isn’t the end of us, this is the beginning of us, and whatever empire we want to forge. The sleeping giant is awake now, and while he may be taking a while to stir and ready himself for battle, once he does there will be no stopping him.
