The NAU
The pendulum of education in eRepublik and one of the oldest teaching federations known to the New World, the NAU, or North American Unviersity, was founded in the Summer of 2009. Host to some of the greatest teachers and admins in the New World, including former presidents and Fionia, the NAU spreads the word of history, journalism, politics and game mechanics to eRep players through classes hosted on Internet Relay Chat (IRC).

The NAU has been on a short absence since last February, but we are about to return stronger then ever with brand new teachers, classes, and a new system structure. Fionia will be leading the charge once again while we attempt a drastic change in the way operations work. Curious? Let me explain.

The North American University is getting rid of official registration this term, something that we've never been attempted before. Instead, we are resorting to a day-by-day type schedule, gathering students from IRC and running a different topic every week. Below, you'll see I have some basic structural changes in bulletin points

Structure Changes
- Classes will be held once a week.
- Classes will be 30 minutes long and will contain just one topic per subject (Example: Week one of World History class will contain the topic of "World War 3". The next week will have a different topic, IE "World War 4&quot😉
- Class Recruiting will be done by spamming IRC before a class starts in as many channels as possible. (Example; "ALERT: NAU's "World History" Class will begin in 30 Minutes. If you would like to be a student or attend the class, please join #NAU"; To be posted in channels such as #eus-congress and #eus-chat)
- All Classes will be hosted on IRC (excluding Basic IRC/Newb Tutorial), in the Rizon network. Location will be in the official NAU room, #NAU.
- As for outside of IRC Recruiting: For those who don't use IRC on a regular basis and therefore are unable to be IRC spammed, there will be an "alert system". By filling out this google document, you will be alerted about 20 hours, 3 hours and 15 minutes before a class starts.

This new strucutre is somewhat broad and completely new, so we don't exactly know how it'll pan out. What we do know, however, is that this idea has a lot more potential then the old, classical "class list" strategy. Additionally, since this new structure may have some minor flaws to it, expect a few things to be changed over the course of the next week or so.
