Recently many real-life countries have moved from direct democracy, where each person gets a single vote, to weighted democracy, where people get a number of votes equal to their wealth. This is righty hailed as a triumph of the free market.

Now the time has come to bring weighted democracy to the nations of erepublik. The benefits will be numerous, especially for the newer players.

1) Easy source of income by selling votes.

2) Get people more engaged in politics by selling congressional seats and presidencies.

3) Bring the Mastercard from the battlefield to the PTO.

4) Reduce political corruption by giving congressmen a legitimate source of income.

We need a forum, where all can offer to buy/sell votes, offices, and citizenships. We need an education program, to teach new players how to secretly move funds through overpriced money market offers. We need an exchange program for people to trade orgs. Why take 5 gold out of the economy when we can hide our corruption for free?



Votes will be much more valuable when packaged in blocks. This is good news for small nations and militias. Imagine waking up one day and finding your treasury emptied by thieving goons! What do you do? Do you cry, maybe suck a little thumb? No. You simply move your people to another country, buy citizenship for no money down, and PTO your way back to solvency.

Mercenary jobs few and far between? Its not easy getting contracts unless your a very big militia, and you have to compete with mercs from all over the world.
