SEA and You
[Firstly let me say that yes, I am worthless and can’t keep away from this game for more than a few months, even to save my life. I love you all too much to completely sever ties.]
I came back to see that eMalaysia, eSingapore and ePhilippines are aflame in controversy in our little region over the proposed quasi-creation of the country of SEA, or South-East Asia. While it seems that the governments are for this plan, many citizens have their concerns. While I am not a government official in any of these governments, I have been reading around and have sat down in discussion with Philippine President Jelly9473 for multiple hours going over the future.
First, let’s establish some difficult facts:
The eWorld has 213464 Citizens (100😵
and 526 Regions (100😵
ePhil has 438 Citizens (0.21😵
and 4 Regions (0.76😵
eMy has 703 Citizens (0.33😵
and 3 Regions (0.57😵
eSing has 246 Citizens (0.12😵
and 1 Region (0.19😵
SEA would have 1387 Citizens (0.65😵
and 8 Regions (1.5😵
Election Results [latest election data available]
ePh [Nov Presidential] 79 Votes (28.83% Presence)
eMy [Oct Congress] 91 Votes (23.76% Presence) [PTOers were still present.]
eSing [Nov Presidential] 38 Votes (23.46% Presence)
SEA would have roughly 208 voting citizens.
Other SEA Facts/Trivia:
Each SEA Congressman would get roughly 3 citizenship passes, making 120 passes available a month.
Due to game mechanics, Palawan would be the Capital.
SEA would have 1 High Stone, 2 High Oil, 3 Medium Grain, 2 Medium Stone, and 3 Medium Oil.
SEA would be Rank 28 in Population, which is right below Iran. Malaysia is 47.
SEA would be internationally neutral.
General Game Mechanics:
Existing parties would be absorbed into SEA. The number of parties would become 13--well enough for fair expression, if I do say so, though would hopefully be reduced for aPTO purposes.
Due to new game rules, MPPs would activate if any of SEA’s land was attacked, not just ePh's original territories.
Indonesia has promised not to interfere in the creation of SEA.
Trivia about the ePhilippines:
Our politics are not divisive. Our parties are for the fun of it, and there is extremely little infighting. Why? Because we all believe in the future of the country, and we love to invite the rest of you to adopt the same atmosphere in your own countries, and under SEA.
We don’t hate you. In fact, we all here are just excited to have some real action going on. We hold eSing and eMalaysia in the highest esteem, and look forward to working with you all in the future, no matter what comes out of this action.
If the eMalaysian and eSingaporean population continue to think this is a radically bad idea, the ePhilippines will not be merging with anyone. Jelly9473 and I have spoken often on this, and if after the ‘war’ with Singapore is over [which is purely for fun, we promise] the majority is still of a similar mind on SEA, then we will return to the status quo. We have no desire to oppress anyone.
Economic Facts:
The ePhilippine government will provide licenses to any company still actively producing products and is vouched for by the eMalaysian or eSingaporean governments.
Before the merger, the Bank of Philippines and various other national banks will work out a solid exchange rate into PHP. [Eg. 1 SGD = 0.87 PHP and fulfilled by the banks.]
More taxes, which means more MPPs! More funding for all programs!
Citizenship Process:
Citizenship would be given as fast as possible, though it would still take some time to merge populations. Our congress can merge 40 in the first month, and will be processing as fairly and equally as we can--after the full territorial integration it will raise to 120.
Pros about SEA:
If we are united under one flag, we have significantly more strength than in our current divided state. Our economies, populations, militaries, and politics will be merged into a much more powerful machine.
It would be an interesting experiment! We have the best chance since FRoSEA to actually make it in the world, and with the new MPP mechanics, we would be in much better shape than back then.
We could actually have a place in the world. As unfortunate as it is, our small nations are simply at the bottom of the ladder. With landswapping gone, our only possible role in the mechanics of the world is now gone, and this allows us to take a place among the world.
PTO efforts would be much, much harder to pull off. All of our nations have felt the sting of PTOs, and with a much-increased population, as well as getting rid of PTOers in each our nations in the merge citizenship process, we would be infinitely safer from a botnet’s sting.
Cabinets and economic energies would be mixed! We would have the best people in all 3 of our countries working together to benefit all of us. Instead of only one of us having a very strong Financial ministry, we all can have a strong bank policy! All of us can benefit under a stronger, unified military, which will utilize the best minds, leaders, soldiers, and production facilities in all 3 of our nations.
If we’ve learned anything from the past months, it’s that people like to randomly RW things. We’ll get free wars just sitting there as random people try to free territories!
Negatives of SEA:
Deaders in parties will be lost, and it will take a while to integrate citizenship.
Large up-front integration costs, and meddling Resistance Wars started ‘for the fun of it’ may prove problematic. A strong military would significantly help suppress this.
Loss of the national identities of eMalaysia and Singapore, and people may leave because of this. Education efforts will be needed to reduce this.
If SEA ever splits up, open citizenship will prove problematic.
Conclusion
I, along with my fellow countrymates and hopefully you all, are excited as ever for the future of South East Asia, whether under the unified banner of SEA or not. Ahead of us, we have a future that could be brighter, stronger, and better under unification, and I hope that you will join with your fellow citizens and realize that future.

Thank you for your time,
Hekter
PS: Thailand, if you want in on this, too, that'd be pretty nifty.

Even if we would have higher population as one, it would take time to share citizenships to every singaporean and malaysian player.
Also, what if eSingapore would like to break free? We would start an RW and when we would gain back our only region, we would not have congress and anyone could get CS. What a wonderful idea.
To Singapore there would not be going back. PTO would be imminent.
That's mentioned, unfortunately this copy got cut off.
And if Sing doesn't want in, again, no biggie. What's not been said is that this war is not serious--even if we won we'd RW Singapore back on the map--all of this shenaniganiry was originally planned just to boost activity, and then transformed into a proposal for a unified country.
If eSing is RW'd the open citizeship probably means it will be lost to long term residents forever
> And if Sing doesn't want in, again, no biggie. What's not been said is that this war is not serious--even if we won we'd RW Singapore back on the map
And this now-failed plan didn't include at all taking Singapore before congress election and releasing it after, right ? :3
@Kveta
Look, I know you don't particularly have reason to 'trust' the ePh government given the absolutely foolish way they've handled this so far [I've not been playing the game for 5 months and came back yesterday] but there was never any intent to kill Singapore's congress, citizenship, or hold on to its territory. The idea of painting this as a real war was to whip up activity, and while it certainly did that, it's also created a massively unnecessary rift that has no reason to exist.
@Kveta
The plan was never to take eSG before congress elections.
Not going to happen. Alot of the long term Citizens of eSingapore who are abroad would come home and fight and bring some assorted units for support.
@Relorian
Have you seen the ePhilippine military? We couldn't fight our way out of a wet paper bag that was 600 years old and made of the thinnest papyrus ever grown. SEA would be formed with consent, not imperialism.
Consent isn't something that's given, never was, and this has been said since these talks started. So any continuing move is and will be considering Imperialistic.
We don't want to join you, the reasons are numerous and our decision is very definitive and it has nothing to do with us being friends or not. There are way to many shady things going on and this mixed propaganda on the issue only makes it worse.
If you attack us, it will be considered real war, and I am pretty sure we are the most capable of our 3 lands to defend our own territory when it comes down to it. We have the largest resolve, and the largest tanks as citizens (even if they might not all live here).
Being in a 1 land nation gives its people a much different mindset then other lands.
Good God, I am sick of people completely ignoring what I directly say. The war with Singapore was never serious.
End of story. It was to increase activity. That is all. We all knew that Phil had an excruciatingly low chance of actually winning, and that was and and always has been a good thing.
I don't care what you said Hekter. I care on what is happening.
I understand your viewpoint, and it may at its core have just reasons from your viewpoint ... but it is not wanted and has now led us down a path where individuals are stealing, lying & cheating to make sure this happens.
You may have started something for lulz and fun. But it has since definitely morphed into something else. And that in itself is a reason why we want no part of it.
Your guys plans don't work, stuff just ends up broken. To much complexities will never work because there is always middle man factors to consider. People are exploiting you on this as much as they are exploiting us now.
The theft has nothing to do with us and we are working to find the perpetrator and get your orgs back to eSing, as well as calling off the war due to it, if that's what you're referring to.
Also remember that it definitely started out as lulz, and has continued as such, but not everyone is behind the plan now.

Well like I said these things take on minds of their own and people take the opportunity to take advantage of situations. All this must be foreseen to some degree and why we wanted no part of it. Things like this always tend to happen when people get worked up. Indirectly this is defiantly partially the "wars" fault. Regardless of intent, the flood gates were opened. We just wanted to be left alone and let grow as we were having our best economic month in the better part of a year .. now that is all lost for naught .. thanks a lot for that.. appreciated.
Right, because having a lulz war immediately means that we should be able to predict some old eSing player stealing all your orgs.
Get off your high horse and realize that none of this was intended or our fault. That great economic boon? Probably *because* of the energy of the war. I've seen more old players from both our countries online in the past week than ever.
You obviously can't read.
Your war is fail, leave us alone.
