Pdeb for Congress in Wyoming

My name is Pdeb and I am currently running for Congress in the Great State of Wyoming. I have been active in eRepublik as much as humanely possible, from chatting daily on the IRC/forums with fellow political party members, to subscribing to many informative eGov.’t newspapers and I am enjoying everything about each aspect (I am also subscribed to many other newspapers). In my eyes, this game is more about community than the actual “2 click growing” of your individual eCitizen.

My Platform

I am a Federalist running with the help of the United Independents Party. That alone is one of my core values, Congressional Unity. Cooperation between the political parties is essential to our country being great again. The only way that votes can be passed is by members of other parties working together as a majority, deciding the fate of our country. We have Party Leaders that have a desire to work with Congress and our President.

One might ask, since I’m a relatively new eCitizen, one would think I would lack the knowledge that an experienced congressman or eCitizen would possess. To start, many first-time congressmen or candidates do not know what congress does, or what its purpose is. Many inexperienced eCitizens running for Congress promise things that are impossible or untenable to deliver. Anything from a Q6 hospital for a low resource state, or high wood for a desert state, or a minimum wage high enough for everyone to buy Q3 food every day. These things just won’t ever happen.

I understand that congress votes regularly to donate treasury funds to the Congressional Budget Office. Also, Congress votes to enact and renew Mutual Protection Pacts, formally known as MPP’s, with countries we are aligned with. For those who are new to MPP’s they are our safe haven for “training” wars, allowing us to fight for other countries and countries to fight for us. Another large aspect that Congress deals with is the issue of whether or not to raise and lower taxes when the situation demands it.

One must first consider that ALL your decisions and moves are reviewed by eRepublik, and not having experience could potentially harm the country as a whole exponentially.

Training our youth

In my eyes, one of the most important aspects of the game is training our youth. Going through a training division myself, Training Divisions are a wonderful way to get new players involved. They are a great way to get the eUS population thinking as one, because Plato can only teach you so much, and many choose not to listen. Sometimes it takes some good contemporaries to teach you more. I have spent the majority of my time in eRepublik, trying to get more and more people involved, helping out as much as I can; I spend my paycheck every day on either MT’s or Food to new citizens.

In Closing

It is the growth of the community that will guide the future of eRepublik. Spreading the word about eRepublik is not only integral for the expansion of the eUS community, but for its survival as well… as Hawkeye would say, “The pale-faces are masters of the earth, and the time of the red-men has not yet come again. My day has been too long.” These words clarify the meaning of The Last of the Mohicans and can easily be translated to eRepublik. Many eUS citizens have witnessed the death of a group of people. You live too long, he suggests, when you are able to witness the extinction of an entire group of people. The progress of history is cyclical and that the Indian (dead eUS citizens) people will eventually rise to power again (my two cents on it).
