National Address: CAD Theft

Day 520, 20:44 Published in Canada Canada by Bruck

Before I begin I would like to take a moment to apologize for my seemingly late response in this situation but I want everyone to know that even through I have not been able to get an article detailing my final position on this issue until now I have been working behind the scenes to uncover as much information as possible. Unfortunately reality has been a little hectic for me lately but all is well now. CSIS has been investigating separately from the government and when they find results may release them separately.

As I see it the situation is gray with both sides presenting very conflicting stories as to what actually transpired, I will attempt to present my views on the matter and lay out my actions taken. On the one hand we have those outright attacking Gofarman, our nations former Deputy Minister of Defense and Speaker of Congress. First off I must say that this is completely unacceptable and those congressmen that took such a low ground without even facts supporting their claims should be ashamed of themselves. Do not misunderstand me, I believe in holding the government accountable for it’s actions and inactions but there is a line and it was crossed. What has been said and what has been done cannot be undone

I will continue to work towards reclaiming our lost CAD but it is a unfortunate fact that we will not get the lost money back. The Admins simply do not do that and if they did for us they would have complaints from half a dozen other governments who have lost money in just this way. The only way we could have had our currency returned, and I want to make this absolutely clear as it is the only way beyond admin intervention, is if the culprit returned it willingly. Now, it was taken by a Canadian with access to the government org then publically attacking them will have the reverse effect and only strengthen the resolve of the thief to hold their ground. Now I cannot decide whom stole the money but I can say that the public and those considered suspect reacted entirely the wrong way, of this I am certain.

Gofarman has left Canada and forfeited all positions including Speaker of Congress and Deputy Minister of Defense, this is how things will remain until such time as he chooses to return. He is not barred from holding government position and remains a free citizen of Canada should he choose it. If the story of the computer virus is true then the only thing he is guilty of is negligence.

Because the loss of the equivalent of 1000 gold was under the watch of Minister of Defense Ironman I must also take action. As MoD the funds were entrusted to his care, there safe keeping his responsibility. I was never informed of Gofarmans appointment to Deputy MoD, I had appointed JT Vanguard but he was removed without my knowledge by Ironman early in this term. Had I been consulted I find it likely I would have objected and we would not be in this unfortunate position now. Regardless of whether Ironman is directly involved or not the safekeeping of the funds were his responsibility and for there loss I must ask him to step down as Minister of Defense.

Lastly, I would like to personally apologize for this situation. At the time it was believed all possible security measures were in place but we fell victim to an unforeseen threat. I have taken action in increasing security by limiting the number of members with access to government orgs, changing the passwords once more as well as the emails the orgs are linked to, and maintaining lower levels of funds to these orgs at any given time. Though my actions have not solved this case, our money cannot be returned except willingly by the offender, they have secured the governments orgs from anymore breaches in security and anymore breaches in your trust.

Thank you,
Prime Minister Bruck
