My Platform for Congress - August 2009

Day 642, 23:25 Published in USA USA by (DELETED ACCOUNT)Cujo Mayo

I am announcing my candidacy for reelection to the Congress of the eUnited States for August 2009 under the Libertarian Party Ticket.

First things first…. I am a real life Texan and I am proud to represent my state and other Texans in eRepublik. However, that is the extent of any “role playing” I may do in this game. I do not believe this game is a representation of our real world. I do not believe this is the real United States. I do not believe my account is my real person. Therefore, I think “fighting to the death” is the most ludicrous and ridiculous thing I have ever heard in this game.

I am a pure game-mechanics minded person. I believe this is a game and a game that can be won (Indonesia is showing us how to win this game as we speak). If I am forced to make a decision to retreat a region or our country so that we may be reborn in a better and stronger position, then I will do so. Playing this game with stupid real life ideology is what got us into this position, and continuing on that path will result in a very boring game for all eAmericans. We need change in the eUSA, and that change is to get rid of all the ideologists that have hampered eAmerica to this point, and replace them with game-mechanics who will do what needs to be done to regain our country.

With that said, all of the topics I’ve discussed in previous Platforms are pretty much moot in this election. So instead, I will list my qualifications of why I should be in this month’s Congress, and what I offer if you vote for me.

Qualifications:

I am an experienced 2 time Congressman from Texas, and have served that great state well for the past two months. If you are a Texan who is displaced in Florida, then I’m still your guy. I will represent all eAmericans who have been displaced, and will do everything in my power to regain our states.

During my tenure as Congressman, I have served 2 terms on the Congressional Military Committee. The committee acts as a liaison between the Military and Congress, and is an integral part in finding what the Military’s needs are and relaying that to Congress so that those needs might be provided through the budget. Although it has been somewhat inactive due to the war and the suspension of a normal budget, this committee will regain its importance as our country becomes more stable.

Before stepping down this month due time constraints, I was the eUnited States Ambassador to eGreece for 2 months. This gave me the unique privilege to work with a foreign government and to see how the decisions made by the eUSA affects our relationships with other countries. I was able to clearly see how important it is to have allies throughout the eWorld, and this war has only proven that fact ten fold; therefore I will always vote to have an MPP with another country.

I have also been the Assistant Director to the Meals on Wheels program since June. I know how valuable our new eAmericans are to our country, and I fully support programs like MoW to help them sustain their Wellness while they learn the game. Without the Welcoming Committee and Meals on Wheels, I believe the vast majority of our new citizens would become disinterested or frustrated enough to quit this game, so I will continue to advocate for these programs in Congress. And because of various obligations of the three other MoW volunteers, if you have received food from Meals on Wheels since the beginning of July, I was the one that personally delivered it to you. I also recently became a volunteer with the Flying Unicorn Squadron and have been sending out Moving Tickets to eAmericans who are trapped behind enemy lines. So the point being, when I say that I care about the well being of other eAmericans, I spend hours a day backing that statement up through my volunteering.

I am currently a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and I’m the U.S. Home Guard Executive Officer and Quartermaster General. For about the past month, I have been delivering weapons to the soldiers of the Home Guard. Through my hard work and dedication, I was selected to become the HG’s new XO, which resulted in me becoming the newest member of the JCS. As a Congressman, I will be in the unique position to know exactly what the U.S. Military needs and I will have direct and immediate access to the commanders of every branch. Let me make this clear however: I will not be a Congressman in the Joint Chiefs of Staff; instead I will be a Military Officer in Congress – meaning, I am and will be, first and foremost, a Military Officer, and I will only use my position in the JCS to help convey military needs to the Congress.

So needless to say, I am very invested in the outcome of this war; and if you are in the U.S. military, I am by far the best candidate to represent you.

The Future of the eUnited States:

Honestly, nobody knows what the future will hold for the eUSA. There are talks of plans to start taking back our regions, but this is dependant on unforeseen factors of the game, some of which have only hampered our efforts to this point. However, the future of the eUSA will largely be determined upon the cooperation and patience of all eAmericans.

As a Congressman, there will only be so much I can do during this tumultuous time. I will continue to heed the Economic Council’s advice on what Taxes would be best for our present economy. Once we start regaining our regions, I will be an outspoken advocate of changing our nation’s philosophy of what our fortified states should be. I believe our strongholds should be Texas, Kansas, and California – states with High Raw Materials and, in the case of Tx & Ca, high populations and companies. These 3 states should be the first considered for any new infrastructure. Also, there is one thing that I would be able to personally control as a Congressman, and that is Congressional Transparency – at least concerning myself. As you can see in my previous articles, I have devotedly published my voting record on all in-game proposals. So if you want to see exactly the kind of Congressman that I am and will be, take a look through those.

There will only be at most 20 Congressmen this next month and perhaps only 10 if we lose another state, so your vote this election will be the most important in the history of the eUnited States. Please choose who you vote for carefully. Read every candidate’s presentation, and choose who you honestly think will be the best person for the job – not just who’s the most popular person in your party.

Thank you,
