Hey homies!

What a wonderful eWorld we're living in, eh? Within three months, our country has been virtually wiped from the map and made a huge comeback. Thanks to the military planning of Gaius Julius/Jewitt and our allies, we've witnessed a brilliant turn-around in initiative and seen several enemies pushed out of our territory completely! With the war apparently drawing to a close, this month's congressional elections are all the more important. The people elected on the 25th will be in charge of re-laying our national policies and replacing Q5 hospitals and DSs. Next term it will be very important to have a team of intelligent and effective people in place that are prepared for the job ahead of them.

I am one of those people.

I don't want to make a wall of text, otherwise I'd post all of my stances on every issue facing the eUS. I'll lay out a few here, and if you have questions, you can PM me or post them in the comments section 😉


Taxes:

Before this war began, the national tax system operated under the PANEC plan. This plan carefully balanced a sustainable income tax with a low VAT and moderate tariffs, which allowed us to support a growing military and fund the various social programs used to stimulate citizen activity and retention. Once the war began, we hiked the income tax across the board and lowered a few important tariffs in order to finance our defense and increase our supply of weapons. A few weeks ago, congress lowered taxes back to normal levels. If I am elected, I'll support a modified PANEC plan that conforms more with the needs of the military.

Foreign Policy:

I am not a fan of vengeance. Once this war is over, we should not strike back and attempt to completely conquer our current opponents, but we SHOULD reach out and attempt to liberate the smaller countries that cannot help themselves. In making it clear that we do not seek vengeance, perhaps a few prominent PEACE nations will feel safe enough to drop out of the empire and declare neutrality. Hell, they might even JOIN us!!!

Infrastructure:

This is likely to be one of the larger debates next term. I favor the fortress plan, with Q5 hospitals in no more than three or four strategically important states. This keeps our population concentrated in key areas and builds walls where we need them. Additionally, if we spend less on infrastructure, it frees up money which can be sent elsewhere.

As a former three-term senator, I already know many of the ins-and-outs of congress. I know when to speak and when to be silent, and I know where to go with ideas. As a member of the UIP cabinet, I have taken advantage of many opportunities to make friends in other parties, and am extremely delighted to see a few of those friends also running for office 😃 If elected, I will be fully ready to dive right in and set to work on cooperating with my fellow senators to return this nation to glory
