When will Haiti get a break?
I was going to do this if you didn't. Thanks, PQ. Very classy move 🙂

I think in this case we can make an exception for real life. Thanks for the info, Phoenix Quinn. 🙂
spam spam spam report report report FORFEIT POINTS!
I'm being just a little facetious, of course.
Good links, thanks. Voted.
Voted, we all should try to help somehow.
I have no money, but my heart goes out to those affected.
Everyone should shout this article.
Make sure you're donating to a legitimate charity. Check out this site for charity organization transparency/ratings:

Seriously why the hell does this shit have to happen to the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere.
Voted. We can help. This is a real disaster.
I was thinking how Cuba and Haiti were very similar countries in 1950 and Cuba is doing pretty well, not so for Haiti. I wonder how Glenn Beck would respond.
like yes.
Sorry Gailees, but we aren't uniting anything nearly that big.
And Buck Rogers, you don't have to report everything. Or anything.
I'm helping by praying.
Thanks Samuel B. I updated the headline.
Voted! My heart goes out to the Haitians and their diaspora.

Rosher Halberstram: Where are you getting this information? Have you ever stopped to look at any financial report from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies? Have you ever looked at the extensive partnerships and world connection that the Red Cross has been able to build over the last 150 years? You don't get 3 Noble Piece Prizes and a strongly build international Disaster Relief system in place by being crooks!
Trying to piss on the Red Cross is a narrowminded, inglorified way of making a stupid statement and getting a rise out of people.
People as missinformed as you irk me when you say things like this and I urge you to look beyond the Red Cross Hummers in the States and see what we've been able to do in other contries. And even at home! Think of the thousands of seniors receiving assistance from the Local Red Cross Societies, the First Aid trainings and Youth supprt systems that might be in your own community.
Take down your comment and lets end these unecessary attacks on organizations that are ment to help in times of need.
Truly a tradegy and completely f'd up. My prayers are with the people of Haiti.
Red Cross has 3 stars from Charity Navigator. And Charity Navigator itself has been criticized for being overly sensationalistic.
I tend to agree with citizen Kogibak that characterizing a long-standing and well-known group as "crooks", without substantial evidence, is both unecessary and counter-productive at a time like this.
All charities (and charity watchdogs for that matter) deserve scrutiny. If you don't approve of one, then choose one you do trust.
Not that its makes it less serious. But the death toll is "only" 50.000
Number of deaths is hard to estimate in a massive disaster. As we saw in New Orleans and elsewhere, the full scope of the tragedy won't be known for some time. The PM of Haiti and some news agencies originally reported 100's of 1000's. Today news reports have that 50,000 number. I don't want to play a numbers game so changed the headline (again) to just say "Many".
